I can't remember the exact quantities as it's twenty years back, so this is approximate.
School Domestic Science Class Biscuits
6oz basics plain flour
2oz basics marg
2oz cheapest golden syrup or treacle you can find.
Pinch of salt.
Melt marg and syrup together in a pan on low heat. When melted, add flour and salt and mix vigorously. If still very soft and more liquid than solid, add more flour: consistency should be such that it congeals and forms a smooth homogeneous ball, coming away from the sides of a non-stick pan very easily.
Take teaspoons of mixture and place on baking tray, flatten out with fork to produce a grainy textured surface. Place in a pre-heated oven, 190 degrees Celsius. Bake for 10-15 mins until lightly browned.
These can be flavoured almost any way you please: raisins, drinking chocolate, lemon essence, citrus peel, chopped nuts, it's all good. They are yummy, easy, quick and cheap. I want some right now!0 -
Thanks, Lynn11. That's a good site. I've taken a few recipes from there :beer:0

I want to make some biscuits for a friend. He likes 'squidgy' type biccies, like cookies, rather than hard ones like Rich Tea, for example.
I have never made biscuits in my life. Does anyone have a simple, foolproof recipe?0 -
These choc chip cookies are pretty easy:
