I nearly posted something similar earlier but chickened out. :o

We don't use any pesticides at all for weeds and no slug pellets either. Grow totally organic. These chemicals worldwide are killing our earth, the soil is a living balanced system of it's own much like our own bodies and there has been considerable damage on a large scale this past century. :(

We would not put these chemicals into our own bodies but sometimes we are by eating what we have grown the residues of the harmful substances are often still there. I know and admit at times I am a hypocrite as I will buy whoopsied fruit and veg without knowing their provenance and other things that are not totally organic but I feel I limit my exposure by growing our own and often buying organic meat/veg and I know this means putting a lot of trust into the suppliers I buy from and it is not always affordable to all. But you make choices in your life and even when I had very little money I still did the same especially when the girls were younger and did without a lot of other things.

It is something I am very passionate about. In fact I embrace some weeds in my garden as some wildlife rely on their existence. Ok best step off my soapbox and take my green wellies off.

I will only feed my family food cooked from scratch and organic where possible. if you shop around its cheaper to go organic :)

Anyone ever think why so many people are getting sick what's changed ? to make all these people get cancer ? :(

So i just got the exciting news that my flat should be finished in the next few weeks - after living back at home for 2 years to save pennies i am most excited! However....i have brought wallpaper for everywhere - my bedroom, lil mans bedroom and front room - and just been told cannot wallpaper for first 2 years (have to wait for settlement cracks!), am absolutely gutted - i really dont want to live with Magnolia walls! builder has told me i can paint - has anyone seen any bargains anywhere for paint? i know this probably isnt the right place to ask, but having been reading this thread for weeks now and trying to learn tips off you all (im slowly getting there!) i thought i'd ask anyway...thanks xx

Perspective is everything. Magnolia? No this is linen white, cream, soft caramel ... take your pick from the colour charts and you can be happy for two years with your not so magnolia walls without any further work .

PS - not being sarcastic, checked when we were redecorating and there was little difference between magnolia and some of the expensive paints and depending on the light in different rooms it looks different anyway :).

I get where you are coming from, but there are weeds which you can't just dig up, and so called "better" weedkillers don't even touch. As for burning them, lol that doesn't kill the roots.

    Good afternoon all....

We call it antique lemon possett....

Although I have to say settlement cracks are very common and the best way to deal with them is fill them in and paper over them!!!!!

If you are going to paint, then make sure the first coat is a mist coat as new plaster can also bleed through if paint is applied straight on to it.

The good news is we no longer have any weeds. The bad news is we no longer have a shed or fence either :).

I let myself down sometimes. But I always buy organic milk and butter.
