Quite a bit of flying done today. Just trying to keep busy. I received a beautiful, card from the vet with a lovely message inside. She was so lovely with Ozzy.

I've washed, hoovered right through and dusted. I went into town early this morning then got busy when I came back.

    Dear All,

Ive enjoyed reading this thread. Ive never been a flyer although I do have good intentions and do try but there has always been "something else to do" !

I have a friend whose home is spotlessly clean and tidy, she does everything and even works part-time. She loves cleaning and has pride in her home. I have pride in her home!

However I hate my home - its too big and i work full-time and can never keep on top of jobs. I do get some help from the family but we all lead busy lives and dont see it as a priority after a long day. But its at the stage now where i WANT a home im proud of. There is also the issue that I want to sell it next year and dont want to be embarassed showing anyone round.

As well as general day to day jobs there are some major jobs that need tackling too and I do feel inspired by your routines .. so I hope to join in and try and rescue my weekends from "doing chores" that havent been done for a week!

    Sunday

    Washing
Iron what i washed and dried yesterday/today ready for working week.
    Hoover upstairs (downstairs done yesterday)
    Strip beds
    Ensuite
    My bedroom

If I can achieve above tomorrow today I will be happy. Shower room delegated to OH. DD1&2 responsible for own rooms (young adults still at home) :)

I just wish the family would tidy up after themselves - we are all adults !
  • Forgot to ask in my first post but do the daily levels kindly posted by Natty all to be completed ie level one, two and three?

However I hate my home - its too big and i work full-time and can never keep on top of jobs.

I hate my home too. I really want to move into the town where I work so we can be nearer friends and family. It will also make a huge difference to DSs life as he can be more independent. If we move now we will be out of the catchment area for DS2s school and would have to make a 7 mile trip to take DS2 to school every day. I wouldnt want DS to move schools now so it makes sense to wait 2 years until he has finished.

Our house also needs work doing on it which we really need to do before we sell. I just have to stop myself looking on rightmove all the time!

This is one reason why we are kon-marieing the house which is occupying a lot of my time at the moment.

Anyhow, cricket this morning. We were out last night and I feel bleugh, even though I was driving! I need to get breakfast, shower and make myself presentable!
  • Good morning,

Yorkshirelass: That's why we moved as well - schools and catchment areas so I totally understand your dilemma - it sounds a wise decision to hold off the move for 2 years and then move closer to friends and family - the things we do for kids :A

Mine are both in uni (still at home which I love) and I still live my life around them (taxi, cook, sort of cleaner :rotfl:) - but i'll always do it and i'm sure lots of mums do the same!

I look at right-move all the time as well :rotfl: Mainly at what I cant afford! Ive also become obsessive about looking through house magazines - looking for inspiration for my dream home - reality is when we sell and debts paid off I dont know where we'll be - but whereever it is i hope to make it my dream home but in the meantime I can dream.

I think its harder sorting out and looking after a property that you are "just not in too" - but you have at least 2 years to achieve your aim. In my case its not only trying to keep it clean and tidy its having no spare cash to spend on it! So I hate the house even more :rotfl::rotfl:

Well enjoy the cricket and the rest of your day Yorkshirelass - keep up the hard work :)

TCAL - welcome, your house certainly did not get how it is today overnight, in a week or a month so it will take time to Take Back Control but you can do it. Do what you can, use the list for inspiration not to beat yourself up! I too am on the Kon Marie journey and it is making a difference and I am amazed how it seems contagious to other members of the family. I could not believe that my very messy 21 year old son gutted his room yesterday! My next one down (like yours doing uni from home) says he cannot wait for exams to be over to join the Konvert club!

    DW emptied
    WM just finished
    Frog eaten

Going to get the washing on the line and reload the machine, wash up, make a cuppa have a shower and then:

    Clean bathroom
    Clean shower room
    Water plants
    dust hallway
    dust DS2 room
    plant out random things
    ring bank
    get DS1 to ring bank
    Visit Mr S
    Clear dining table
    Do a little kondoing
The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair
  • Good morning,

Dusty Kitten: Thanks for your kind words and motivation :)

I need to look up the Kon Marie journey as not sure what it is and i'll do that next. I believe that we all should tidy up after ourselves but feel like i'm fighting a losing battle and constantly nagging (i'm just as untidy at times) - but you seem to have made an impact with your boys so I'll try anything!

You have a busy day ahead of you.. me too :)

So far I have put a wash on - just finished and ready to peg out
Next wash lined up and ready to go.

Thats as much as Ive done so far but tbf, its more than i normally do at 9am on a sunday morning :rotfl:
