Thanks everyone. I really thought he would be back home with me. Late test results yesterday showed he had diabetes. He was also being treat for cystitis. I had been up all night on Tuesday with him. It was a very hard decision but I had to do what was best for him. He was such a special cat and it's only now I've realised how many people he touched with my updates. The house is so empty without him.

It takes real love to let an animal go; I'm always touched by how unselfish genuine animal lovers are. Thinking of you today, Boddy.

Huge congratulations Dusty! I wondered how the interview went, but I know from your commonsense and conscientitousness on this thread for the years I've been around that they're extremely lucky to have you. You can pick up the IT skills but your personal qualities are what they're after and rightly so.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who's been lax on the flying front this week, although I have flown the dog this morning. If some irresponsible owner with a dog with an extremely dodgy tummy had picked up after their dog, that wouldn't have been necessary - yuk yuk yuk. Still, the dog now smells of VO5 which is a vast improvement on an hour ago and I now know that I can bath him outside on the front steps with a microfibre cloth and a couple of buckets of water. Dog shampoo is going on the shopping list because if it's happened once, it'll happen again.
    Better is good enough.

I've hurt my silly elbow now and I have no idea how.. it feels pulled but I've not lifted or moved anything heavy so I don't know what is going in with it other than I may have slept funny on it.. :(

I need to trot to Boots for prescription pick-ups today.. and we have squeaks homework to do too.

I've actually been flying today. DS3's room done, our room done and the stairs and landing and amazingly DS1 has gutted his room. DS2 being left alone as his exams start this week, he has stripped his bed, the rest can wait a couple of weeks.

3 loads of washing done and dried/drying on the line.

Just had a couple hours in the front garden, I'll just finish off out there for now and then on to dinner and getting the rest of the washing in.

    OH is DOING dinner!!!

I have tidied my messy corner and got 2 loads of washing out.. I'm just going to bring it in actually as it is getting cold now and I want to close the doors.

Ionafan here are some newts for you.

Mr N & I made a huge list walking round the garden of things that needed to be done. We've spent most of the day doing the "clear out garden shed" as it has been very sunny. Didn't quite finish it today, but have decluttered loads of dross, washed lots of trays/boxes, re-organised and Mr N has put up a rack for rakes, hoe etc. and put guttering on the wall to house canes and pots.

Just been to aquatic centre to get more pond plants (only found 1 we liked), the garden centre next door to get nothing buy came out with 8 plants, B&Qto get more guttering (and somehow 1 more plant) then A1di.

    Evening all!
Very quiet here, touch wood. Foster-bairn is having a sleepover. We've had a rather mad day with ballet shows (was fabulous, proud mama) and a baby in the house, but lots of fun.

He's been treated to a re-enactment of the gruffalos child, as a bedtime story, we have the entire cast in stuffed toys... Anyway, he's been happy enough and settled well in the travel cot after his bedtime milk.

Bit hard to tidy when you have baby chairs and playmats everywhere. So I might just leave it. Not sure when my mum is coming back for him tomorrow but we are out all afternoon so goodness knows when we'll get ourselves in order.

Must get to bed at a reasonable time tonight - mum said he usually sleeps through but will wake for a small drink of milk occasionally.

Might make a decaf brew while I finish the kitchen and head off to bed :)

ended up with 6 loads of washing done and a recycle bin filled and half a wheelie bin!

I am aiming to fling everything out of the cupboard in the front room.. and I mean everything.. apart from the couple of packs of nappies that are in there.
