I bleach my hair and my friends hair, beards, before dying them silly colours, (we're all mad bikers!!) I use Jerome Russell powder bleach and 40 vol 12% cream peroxide. It does tingle a bit at first but I have never had any major accidents or problems with it. It costa about £3.49 for the powder and £1.49 for the cream. HTH
I did a strand test on the weekend for this.
My hair was dyed very dark brown a long while ago (similar to my natural colour). This stuff made the strand go bright orange, and after 3 re-apps and 2 hours it was neither blonde nor okay. It was frizzy and fragile.
There is no way I'd put it anywhere near my hair, nor the OP's daughter!!!:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:AThinks Naughty Things Too Much Clique Member No 3, 4 & 5

Ooooh, please don't do it. Her poor hair will be in horrible condition, if you get it to blonde at all. It'll take a couple of bleaches, and I'm guessing that the pink sections are already bleached? I'd be surprised if these didn't break as a result. And I'm also guessing the black is a chemical dye? It's really not worth ruining the condition of her hair for!
And it's almost impossible to get a natural looking blonde at home without lots of experience. It'll end up one blocky yellow colour. And that's the best case scenario.
If she refuses to go to a hairdresser then I would suggest she just has to go without!0 -
Let her Dad do it then - then it's HIS fault, not yours! :rotfl:
:rotfl: Spot on. ESPECIALLY if (sorry, I don't know) her mother is still in the picture. (I have a non-resident step-daughter and OMG, the repercussions from a bad hair-dye...or any hair-dye actually  )They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

I remember how distressed I was by bad hairstyles when I was that age, and they didn't involve dye or permanent damage - it only took a week for the backcombed beehive (think Marge Simpson when all I wanted was a bun on the BACK of my head!) to settle down again (although I was finding stray hairgrips throughout that week!). If this goes wrong it could be much longer before she can be seen in public, and if the school get funny about her wearing a hat or scarf to school she's going to be so upset.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Is the neighbour still around? And does she know what she's doing (ie some training!) If so, can you get a face to face opinion from the neighbour?

Unfortunately not no. I think she's relying on my limited styling training! Mind you I did do it to my hair a very long time ago (I did lots of things to my hair I shouldn't have) but that was my hair and not hers. Goodness knows what I'll do as she refuses point blank to go to a hairdresser (even mine!).CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can remove some of the dye from her hair by washing it twice in washing up liquid. You could try asking the pharmacist at a chemist if they will sell you peroxide for hair. I'm a old goth and I have had my hair every colour you can imagine and sometimes all at the same time. It will be trial and error whether it will work or not.
Thanks Black-Saturn, I'm an ex-goth too and have dyed my hair all sorts of colours but in the end this is her hair and I don't want to mess it up. I had limited training some time ago (part time work when I was a student) and can apply dye etc but wouldn't know exactly what products to buy.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Like i said i've never had any problems with it, but you do say you have had it dyed brown before using this so thats probably why, i only use it on natural hair not previously coloured hair and the crazy colours we all use are vegetable dyes also. I go from dark brown to nearly white blonde.PinkPunkBird

You sound a bit like me and my mates, one lad has bright green beard, one purple beard and mohawk and mine is flourescent pink. :eek:PinkPunkBird

Thanks Black-Saturn. If you could find the goth page it would be very much appreciated. As I said before mine's blonde now but I did revert back to black and electric blue and got stopped by the police who thought someone looking like I did shouldn't be driving a nice car. Great eh? The job I have now means I really can't dye my hair all the wacky colours I used to love (though it was white only a few months ago). I think I'm going to try a strand test on her hair. Something that won't show up if her hair's up or down and see how it goes.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
