Sorry I cant remember the name but I know Superdrug and Boots sell it. It is wth all the hair dyes usually by the peroxide, comes in a box.
Thanks I'll have a little look.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
If your local hairdressing college doesn't have evening sessions see if any hairdressers have trainee nights. A colour correction is good training for them.
Else look for a hairdresser who will come to the house. Should work out cheaper.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Thanks none of the colleges here run evening classes in colour and she won't let a stranger near her hair hence a hairdresser is out.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. I think I would either say "No, I'm sorry, I'm not prepared to risk ruining your hair BUT I will come with you if we just go and TALK to a hairdresser" - and while a bad haircut may only take a couple of weeks to grow to a stage where you can correct it, all your hair breaking or going green may take just a little longer to sort out! Maybe if a professional says "This really isn't a good idea, you know!" she would listen.
OR say "IF I do this and it all goes horribly wrong, you will be the one to have to live with it and I will not let you blame me for it, not once, not ever! Because I am doing it much against my better judgement, and there is a real risk of you not liking the results."
And then leave her to either mess her own hair up, or live with black hair a little longer.
can I ask how old she is? That would make a difference to how I approached it. With a pre-teen it would be a firm "No, I'm sorry, you'll have to wait," because 'waiting' is a part of growing up, life is tough, life is hard, and you might as well learn that now.
With a teenager, I might be persuaded to the "On your own head be it" approach. Because whatever you do will be wrong anyway ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I bleach my hair and my friends hair, beards, before dying them silly colours, (we're all mad bikers!!) I use Jerome Russell powder bleach and 40 vol 12% cream peroxide. It does tingle a bit at first but I have never had any major accidents or problems with it. It costa about £3.49 for the powder and £1.49 for the cream. HTH

Please don't do this yourself at home. Last week my DD2 decided she wanted to go blonde. She wouldn't listen to me when i said if you are going to have it done go to the hairdressers. She didn't and her hair came out an awful orange colour. The top was of it was very blond and it made her hair look thinner. The bottom of it was ginger but not a nice ginger a very bright ginger.Just very bright. The colour was just awful and she couldn't go out at all it really did look bad. I had to make her an appointment at the hairdressers and it cost us £80.00 to get it looking good again. More than if we would have gone to have it done proffesionally in the first place. Please don't make the same mistake. The make she used was xxx live. When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile0

as above, DONT TRY THIS AT HOME is the warning I give
Black to Blonde is very hard to get right unless you know what you are doing.Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
No no no please don't even go there!!! I am a stylist and with the experience of colouring I would never in a milion years would colour someones hair from black to blonde!! Black has an extreme amount of pigment to it and going blonde you are going to have residue left behind!! It will end up being quite orange and very dry indeed!! Sorry to give you professional bad news but that is the way it is!!Sunday 23rd September 2007 I came to my senses and discovered fresh air!!:j
:hello: ELLO! :hello:0 -
I KNOW I would be too scared to do this at home (OK, I'm not the kind of person who colours their hair, but even so ...)

Thanks Sue. She's 14 (but looks a lot older). Her Dad says she can have it done and I made a very good job of dyring her hair black with bright purple highlights but it does make me nervous the thought of putting anything over black dye!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Thanks I saw this in Superdrug over the weekend (I've been in Salon services, Superdrug and Boots reading all the packets). Is this easy to use? and safe to use on pre-dyed hair?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
