I have 2 tickets going spare for this Sundays sailing. I can get the name's changed over at no extra cost as due to the nature of my job I have contacts within DFDS. However, I do need to know today by 5pm if anyone wants them.

Hi again, there is now 3 twin cabins available as my friend who had 2 cabins booked has now said she can't make it.

Due to technical difficulties according to my voicemail. I called back and they advised there were serious delays which meant that this trip had to be cancelled.
They booked me in for the week after just in case but as I can't make it they refunded me.
I have to say though, both the lady who left the voicemail and the lady who answered my call were very friendly nice ladies.

Next week will probably be fine so I wouldn't worry just yet :)

We are off next week. My mate however, was due to go this weekend. Did anyone go this weekend? If they did, I don't suppose that they could reply to this thread. Someone left a message via 3rd party for my friend. The way is was relayed didn't make sense. At 10am there was a phone call that the departure would be delayed by 1 hour, it was 8 but they had caught up and checkin still started at 21.30. When she got the message she tried to call a number but was told that the office was closed. She checked the sailing times that confirmed that check in was 21.30 and departure. I haven't been in touch with her so I don't know if she went or not.

Is there anyone that knows someone that went? My guess is maybe the trip was cancelled because of the 8 hour delay but some people may have been called later because the delay was then only 1 hour. My mate was asked if she still wanted to go. Can anyone shed any light?

Well we got a call in the morning (Saturday) but I missed it, no message left or anything.
Got another call at about half 4pm and was left the voicemail to advise that the trip was cancelled due to technical difficulties and to advise booked on for following weekend instead however if I had any problems or woud prefer refund phone back and left a number stating office closed at 5pm.
Called that number adv the other dates were no good and got a refund.
Lady advised that there were huge delays and they had to cancel.

So from what I was told I don't think the ship sailed at all for this trip.

My mate got a call on the Sunday. The message was left with her mom. According to her she could still go if she wanted as there was only a one hour delay. Her mom said that it sounded like she was already supposed to know about it. She didn't take a contact number as she thought that maybe an e-mail had been sent. My mate tried a number on the website but was told her the office was closed. I am wondering if my mate was supposed to be contacted on the Saturday but wasn't and by Sunday the problem was resolved and people could go if they wanted to.

The last time I spoke to her she was still going as the sailing times said that check in was at 21.30. I haven't heard from her since.

Probably figured out there would be so many people taking their own sandwiches and boiling eggs in kettles that they wouldn't make a profit.
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.
  • OH no- i feel terrible for the people who had their minicruise cancelled.
Me and hubby are due to go on sunday, its our wedding anniversary on Monday. :)

I have made arrangements for our daughter(11) to stay with her friend so that she can go to school as normal. Our lad (5) is staying with his nan and grandad for the first time ever. The kids and time off work have taken alot of organising and i am sooooo looking forward to it- i will be gutted if ours is cancelled. :(
