Suggs, you were away when I first started posting, Ajax was desperate for some more testosterone on this thread (even accussing a member of the fairer sex of being male!) So he kept refering to you.... I'm not going to lie I thought he'd made you up!!0

Well done vickyj :j it is a lovely feeling when you drop down into the next stone...
...my pedometer seems to have stopped working, it read 7319 when I left my mother but wasn't showing anything by the time I'd walked home
so I've texted DD to pick me one up on her way home. I must agree that it's quite addictive. I was disappointed with my totals for Sunday and Monday 8,759 and 7672 respectively but compared to some of you that wasn't too bad, and for me, they were lazy days. Perhaps I'm not as unfit as I thought, and now that I've got a comfortable pair of trainers I might try that walk/run thing that katiepc mentioned, because I always try to run straight off and then wonder why I can't do more than a few yards
...

Where's the best place for one to acquire a good pedometer without paying inflated JJB prices? I feel left out, and have often wondered how many steps a round of golf takes.0

Hello all you wonderful people ... what an inspiring few days. Loved the pictures that have been posted and you all look fantastic!
I've not posted in a couple of days ... but have been trying to keep up with the thread. My diet (which I started in earnest on Saturday is going well.
I've not touched any chocolate/biscuits or cakes. My only indulgence has been a frijj drink (yesterday and monday:o )
For breakfast I've been sticking to my 50g muesli and soya milk. Lunches have been mostly the low cal soups from waitrose which are great. Today though - I've just had my first jacket sweet potato (with nothing on except a tiny sprinkle of salt & pepper) and it was deeeeeelicious:D
Evening mealtimes haven't been so successful owing to my portion control going out of the window .... 8 slices of hm pizza:eek:.
Inbetween times ... I've done pretty good though - snacking on fruit, crudites and hm plain popcorn (instead of the usual junk). I'm hoping to see some results for my hard work....planning to lose a stone. I'm thinking 2lbs a week would be good if poss.
Thanks everyone for your inspiring posts and keeping me motivated0 -

hullo, I don't know how much they are normally but you can get a 20% discount at the sweatshop if you go to
https://www.sweatshop.co.uk/zestreaders up until sept 1st i think
the only one I found on their website is this one though
http://www.sweatshop.co.uk/Results.cfm?keywords=pedometer&brand=0&Submit=Go%21
not sure if that helps...
everyones pictures look fantastic and definately helped me resist the second jaffa cake that was winking at me...thanks!0 -

Mostly habit I think .... my hubby has always had a good appetite and I just started having larger and larger platefuls. Also - I tend to scoff my meals very quickly in order that I can sort the children out with their fruit/dessert after dinner. As we all know - if you eat too quickly - you dont give your stomach the chance to register the food and send the signal to your brain that you are full.
Hubby has been quite supportive though - and as he is off this week I am hoping we can tackle this evening meal issue.
Doesnt help that we have these really big pasta bowls which encouraage very large portions of pasta. Must try the small plate idea0 -

And you're here for yourselves of course, not to please men :rolleyes:0
