Nais there's nothing wrong with losing a pound. Just think how much that would be at the end of a year. It must be great that people are noticing too but I know what you mean about jinxing it. I keep thinking how easy it would be to put it all back on without even trying.

    Great start Vixtress!

I don't feel exactly the same about jinxing it, but I find when people comment on all the weight I have lost, I am a bit embarrassed. I guess I feel that I shouldn't have eaten everything I ate to get to that point and therefore I shouldn't be congratulated about it now. I know losing weight is an achievement but I sometimes feel like a fraud when I get praise.

On the topic of getting compliments about weight loss, don't you think it is strange that you can loose 2 stone (or whatever) and hardly anyone notices and then you lose another lb and almost everyone you see says something about it. It's as if your size doesn't shrink gradually but in sudden noticeable leaps. I have been on a diet for 8 months now, and only recently have I looked in the mirror and seen someone who I think looks OK (only OK so far guys, let's not get carried away:rotfl: ) - it's like it is a sudeen shrinkage in the mirror too. Hope I am not waffling too much and I am making some sense.

I guess this brings me round to victory. There is so much physicology which goes with being overweight and dieting and no non-dieter can really understand or get in our heads and really know what we are thinking about. I hope you feel nice and strong now with our support as well as that of your OH.
  • Welcome East Coast Girl :j You'll find plenty of motivation here, I wish you success  ...

...Fiesty It must be very disheartening and from reading what you've been doing I find it hard to understand why you should gain so much in one week and I agree it cannot be muscle!! I hope this doesn't sound harsh (it's not meant to) but are you being too generous with your free food? I've never done SW so I'm just wondering! You really do deserve better results  ...

...Well done nais on losing a lb, lucky you to have people comment (nobody has said anything to me :o ) but I can understand your reluctance to tell folk that you're on a diet as it can bring the strangest comments at times:confused: some folk don't like to see success in others especially if it's something that they can't do (if you know what I mean), anyway, keep it up :j ...

...Hi Lois Welcome back from your holiday, (Brightonbelle and I are still in our holiday free corner), but I was sorry to read of your illness though, it's not what you want on holiday...

...Well done to all you other losers  some lovely results this week :j ...

...Re the Quorn cottage pie that I did the other day - my mother is 81 and more often than not I make sufficient meals so that she can have a portion of whatever it is that I'm doing for DD and MrP - so I gave her a portion of the pie and told her that it was slightly different as I'd used vegetable stock as opposed to beef stock, quite true but I didn't mention the Quorn! When I went to see her this morning, I asked her what she thought of it and she hadn't realised that it hadn't been made with meat!!! I still haven't told her ;) ...

I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

    Evening all :)

I'm still suffering with whatever bug I picked up in Italy - I had to provide the surgery with a 'sample' this morning, which wasn't a problem as there's certainly no shortage (sorry if that's too much information). :o

I'm on rehydration salts and a very light diet (no fatty foods, no spicy foods, no red meat, no alcohol) and I'm really fed up of it now, I've never had a stomach upset that lasted more than a couple of days before.

On the plus side, I've lost 7lbs, but I know that's only down to being dehydrated, so I'm not celebrating, in fact I'm feeling rather sorry for myself as you might have guessed. :(

Unfortunately it means I'm not up to doing the chart this week

and.. (change of font in case you've given up reading by now)

I've been thinking for a few weeks about giving up doing the chart, and as it's also about time to start a new thread, this seems to be a timely moment to find out if everyone here finds the chart useful and wants it to be continued, and if so, if someone else would like to take the job on, and start the new thread?
