... it's reckoned average human walking pace is about 4 mph.

Thats a pretty good pace, it the treadmill is to be believed. Have watched some ladies struggle with 3.8 as well as some men. 5.2 is a gentle jog for me, but thats all I can manage, though I did do 10min on it today :)

Ok - sounds good to me - if I walk the dog for an hour I should cover about 3 miles then. Will a pedometer work when your cycling too? I might invest in one if it is the case as I will be cycling more than walking. What do others think on this? I noticed someone had posted about how many steps they were taking - is there a challenge on this I wonder?
    Thanks guys

So I best not mention the 16min cycle, the 18min cross trainer or the 11min jog (843 calories) I did today then? and I was trying to ease off! (oops) allowed myself to get caught up in the moment, bit like you and Nigella :rotfl:

Now Beer, I like the creamflow/smoothflow stuff, not the lagers, golf very techinical game, would love to try it one day. :T:T

welcome lauranurse :j :j :j you will be fine on this thread:D

suggs been looking at your photos, was thinking of maybe taking some of me as have lost a bit of the old dedication to the weight loss cause:rotfl: does it boost you on to carry on? Is it a good idea? Obviously you did it so you will say it is a good idea:rotfl: :rotfl: I am just trying to find something that will motivate me forwards as I said it has not crashed totally but it is harder (maybe because I ate lots for my b yesterday and today feeling empty and hungry)

Hi Victory, I would say its an ok idea, I did it to show people how I changed and as a result of that I saw how much I had changed as well, I dont keep a picture next to the fridge or anything like that, I argee with you regarding eating, suddenly you hit target and if your anything like me, you dont want to eat for fear of ruining it all  I suppose in time it will ease, but it is hard, almost like starting all over again, in that you have to re-programme your brain and say that yes a little more is fine and a little less in the gym is fine also, though I failed on the gym front today :o

It will be a case of whatever floats your boat, posting a picture will bring the praise and we all love praise and recognition. Maybe you should set a mini target of maintianing for Sept? Then reward yourself? Perhaps there is a new challegne for me and you?

    Well Done you!!

:o ... sorry Annie, I put a 4 where I meant 3. Three is a pretty steady walk so if you get a spurt on then 4 is do-able ('brisk' I think they call it). I changed the initial post (thanks Suggster)

Well got back from the dietictian, all as expected is good, have agreed to keep seeing her as I feel the maintianing is just as hard, if not harder than losing.

Upshot is that I have lost 2lb since last week, not intended but I hope things will even out in time.

Well done all other losers this week, big pat on the back to you all.:j:j

welcome lauranurse, Dragon and all newbies to this friendly bunch of losers :D

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: there is no way that would happen:rotfl: I bought this year a extra tummy control purple flower one and I hated it when I bought it, hated it on and have now left it behind in a bin in sunny Spain, that plus all my friends were wearing bikinis, so next year if the weight stays off I am going to do the same:D

Thanks for the advice suggs I guess I will do the photos, I just feel a bit unsure now of what to eat, when to eat, how much to eat and before it all goes back on I need to preserve it in print:rotfl: :rotfl:

well done suggs ANOTHER 2 lb off, great stuff

I guess my mini target would be to stay the same weight as I am now if not 2 lb lighter would do no harm, give lee-way, I have to keep thinking I like wearing the clothes I am in now more than big portions!!
