It goes back to that old mantra that we tell everyone else, but so easily forget ourselves that if you don't get what you deserve then stick with it, the reward has to come in the end.
I'm in full agreement ajax  and also perhaps it's something to do with looking at it from a different angle, although I appreciate that it was MrsA who was struggling, perhaps the different plan has triggered something in your metabolism. I think if we remember this for when someone hits the dreaded plateau, it may be worthwhile suggesting it as a way forard. I'll have to give it a try too, anything to ring the changes :j ...
...I've been putting fence preserver on some panels since this morning (the real fiddly ones  ) and already there are 3 pages to catch up with here  how nice, it'll give my aching back a restI hope you've all been behaving

I think a logical approach to maintaining would be to set yourself a target and an agreed lee-way either side (say 2lbs) then keep your weekly weigh-ins then if you go above you can tweak what your doing and if you go below you can also tweak it in the opposite direction...It would be easier to stick to a target 'range' rather than a specific figure...also you would catch any rogue weight-gain before it got out of control
obviously I have no actual experience of this...got to chop a few limbs off before I encounter this problem.
Before and after pictures seem to be an excellent way to see the change you have made but also to remind you of what all your hard work has achieved.0 -
Following on from other posts, I've decided to set myself some mini targets too and see how that goes for me:
1. 1/2 lb to firs 7lbs off
2. 3lbs to my first silver 7 at WW
3. 3.5lbs of to meet September challenge
4. 7.5lbs to 1 stone off
5. 12 1/2 lbs to next stone.
I think that'd probably do for now. I'll see how I get along with these before thinking of any more.Lauranurse and well done everyone who's lost this week. pineapple_beach and ajax - great results.

Not seen the nutracheck stuff before (memo to self update my information on weight loss resources!)
Oh dragon I hadn't realised that, it must have been soul destroying, or rather, it would have destroyed mine
(I'm a weak failure of life). So good for you for tackling it and I'm sure you'll achieve all of those targets :j :j ...

...I'm still only on page 63 and MrP is standing here cracking the whip, I've got to go and get on with the fence panels (I'd rather read this though :rotfl: )...

Dear Dellybelly I'd like to report a 5lb loss this week, making a total of 6lb since I started playing. I am a very happy granny. Thanks to you all for words of wisdom.
What a lot of lard has come off our combined bodies this week! (On second thoughts maybe thinking of our combined bodies is carrying this cyber realtionship a bit too far too soon.)
Just a bit worried that it will all go pear shaped (or barrage balloon shaped??) at the weekend. Mr GN and I are going to be celebrating in a hotel in Yorkshire from Friday dinner to Sunday tea and I just know that they won't be doing green days and red days. I want to have a good time, so for me that has to include enjoying the food, but I don't want to eat the whole of Yorkshire. I ate nearly the whole of Wales a couple of weeks ago.Advice please clever peeps?0 -
Well got back from the dietictian, all as expected is good, have agreed to keep seeing her as I feel the maintianing is just as hard, if not harder than losing.
Upshot is that I have lost 2lb since last week, not intended but I hope things will even out in time.
Well done all other losers this week, big pat on the back to you all.:j:j
welcome lauranurse, Dragon and all newbies to this friendly bunch of losers
.... suggster, while your dietician may be looking after your future needs, it should not be underestimated how well you have done thus far. You know damn well how hard you worked to lose those 10 and a half stone, and to hear it brushed aside by some skinny cow (?) "the hardest is yet to come" can't be easy. The fact is mate, you're the dog's. Why don't YOU choose when to phase in the next stage of the plan. You play rugger and you have responsibilities as a second row - that brings its own needs. You're a hero to me mate - don't be bullied into crossing bridges to early. You're a young man and you know best.0 -

.... bagsy the first one to rugby-tackle delly to the ground when she reaches that first target. It might not always look the case, but I do love this girl and her help. xxxxxxx0 -

.... my advice (and purely my own) is that if your weeks off plan are 10% or less (per year) than your weeks on plan then you are doing well. Anything that happens in those weeks off plan is free, but anything that happens in the weeks you are dieting is your own adult responsibility, and you are here to lose weight.
Have a good time GN x0 -

Ajax, I appreciate your words, sometimes I feel like I havent done enough and probably dont realise what I have managed. Anyway I dont think she did brush aside what I have done, more that we both understood that for me maintianing could be the hardest part. Sorry if I didnt make myself clear
Secondly I play front row, tight head prop to be precisethe second row binds on by putting his hands through my legs and grabs the waistband of my shorts, well most of the time he does
