I don't know if any of you watch "The Biggest Loser" on Living 2 but they had a great tip on there, when you go to order your deli roll/baguette ask the assistant to slice in half then remove the inside of the roll. This gives you a nice hollow to fill with extra salad making your carb intake alot lower but still giving you the satisfaction of tasting bread.
Not butting in at all aussie....a useful tip....I used to do this but only so I could munch the bread whilst making my sandwich so no saving there
Now I have to mutter a well known mantra whilst cooking to stop me munching
"kitchen pickers wear big knickers!!"

ajaxgeezer wrote: ».... yep! Sachets of sugar-free, veggie-friendly jelly are sold at Tesco. They are made by (IIRC) Green's and have Looney Tunes characters on the front of the sachets. The sachets come in pairs and can be seperated as they are perforated.
In the 1st post I wrote (which I lost) I had said about the greens ones with the looney tunes design ... I got them from tesco last year but they discontinued them at my local store:mad: (wasn't sure if this was local or every store)
Thanks for confirming though ... I guess I just need to find another Tesco store (not too far away hopefully) where I can get them.
Thanks ajax:D0 -
Yippee! 2.5 pounds lost this week! I think the extra walking around on Saturday (even if I did pay for it on Sunday!), and snacking on crudite (OH has at my request starting buying himself crisps in char grilled steak flavour and I hate them
), I didn't go to the pub on Friday (must be a help that!), and even though I am going this week I am going to stay OFF the cider AND have a jkt spud with loads of salad!
Hmm 16 weeks to Yule/Christmas if I lose a pound a week ......................:rolleyes:Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

... oh right. I'll keep a look out then, thanks for that - I'd have just gone and looked again for them.0 -
Well done Dragon!!
I think staying off the pints does help.
I switched from beer to G&T's and have not had a hangover since! I also drink less as they are more expensive and have to drink slower to match my pint drinking friends...
Keep up with the extra walking as well...with any luck it'll get easier over time!0 -
Anyone got any ideas for a SW 'free' packed lunch? Want to avoid bread if poss, but can't find a 'free' mayo that I like so that stops potato salad etc.
No microwave at work and no decent thermos at home (don't want to buy one at the mo)
Getting pretty sick of salads/jacket pots from the shop across the road!0
