Hi zulubabe and welcome to our thread :T just by joining us here is a step in the right direction. Don't be too worried about what the scales show today, because you're tackling your problems and that's what counts :) I would suggest that you find a weight reduction plan that's designed for people such as yourself who have a sweet tooth otherwise you'll struggle to stick to a plan that cuts it out completely. All of us here have struggled at times, so just post here if you need help or just to occupy your mind and stop you thinking of foody things. Please keep us informed of how your hypnosis helps, it's the first case of it here as far as I know, so I'm quite intrigued by it :D I've got basic electronic scales that weigh in kgs, st and lbs, and lbs in increments of 0.2 of a lb (once that 0.2 was all I got one week), they weren't expensive, about £15, but they are consistent and don't 'wobble' - the brand is EKS. I thought that at that price they wouldn't be much good but I think they're excellent.

Suggs I just read your story and has really inspired me to try harder to shift this weight and improve my fitness.

I am not going on holiday until mid September so I can give myself a goal to try to lose 7lb by then. I was a steady 9 1/2 to ten stone all my adult life until I was put on this medication where I gained 40lbs in a matter of months, then I broke my ankle, which meant sitting around for about 3 months. It is amazing how much weight you can gain in 3 months. Two years ago I was worried if my weight got to 10 stone. I can't believe how naive I was then. I don't eat biscuits or cakes because I don't really like sweet things but I eat loads of fruit. I have chronic fatigue and a pain condition which makes most exercise difficult but I am going to make sure I do something every day even just for 2 minutes at a time with lots of breaks I think I can do it.

Right I am going to take the dog for a short walk. No time like the present.

poohbear - that's one of the best things about this thread using everyone else's successes to motivate us without spending money on slimming club magazines... have a great time wallking the dog.

suggs thanks for the cuddle (even if it is the pervy one!:rotfl: ) I'm off to bed for a wee rest. Doped up with cold remedies but the best thing is I'm not really very hungry at the minute - long may it lasteat-drink-smiley-7850.gif
I'm sure I'll soon be back raiding the fridge.

BTW: sssh leesen verry carefully - I shall say zis only once - the madonna ajax was talking about was the painting kept hidden in a knockvurst (sp) sausage in Renee's basement in 'allo 'allo

Hi Poohbear - not sure how far you are from your local pool or whether you can drive or not, but I think one of the best exercises that can be done is aquasize or aquarobics as it is very low impact- if you like being in water it could be fun too?
