Its not really a hobbie if I'm aiming to go pro.
Children are a lifestyle choice, as is a dog. If I got a dog that i needed tp care for it still wouldn't let me look for part time work.0 -

If I wasn't a highly skilled professional I would be able to only look for part time as there are loads of unskilled jobs with part time hours. Thankfully I'm only asked to apply for jobs in my profession. The woman there is often very appologitic for calling me in as she can do nothing to help with the job search.
What I have to do is go for full time jobs then tell them in the interview I can only work part time due to my other activities/ virtually a job. Twice they've withdrawn the job offer as they wanted someone full time.
You wouldn't be able to only look for part time if you were unskilled, I'm not aware of any rules that state the unskilled don't even need to consider full time?
Of course you're being told in interview they want full time, that's generally what happens with full time jobs. How about taking one and then after working with them for a while requesting a change? If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

You idiot. Dogs don't keep our species going. Kids do. Like it or not, we are biologically programmed to reproduce to continue our species! If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
I'm pretty sure this exact same scenario was posted a few years back...
Op, if you were such a high flyer earning so much before you got the sack for under performance, why did you not save for a rainy day?
My husband has been a high tax payer all his life, and when the recession hit, he was not entitled to a single penny of govt help because he done the right thing, saved his money, paid his mortgage etc etc. He only signed to keep his NI contributions going Now he works part time ( as I do ) with the backing of our own hard work, not govt handouts
I suggest you can't afford your hobby if you are looking the tax payer to fund it. Perhaps you need to take the advice of the job centre, take on full time work and save for a time that you can support yourself0 -

All I'm looking for is my 50/a week for 6 months . I haven't posted detailed financial information so best not to make stuff up to fit your narrative.0 -
TomTom, The point I was making is that it's not that silly to think that it's possible to get such a reasonable chunk of your previous salary.
My heavens. I swear you people need everything spoon feeding. You can really tell the lack of graduates on this forum. Either that, or many of you have a mild form of autism.0 -
