Children are a lifestyle choice.
No one is convincing me I'm being unreasonable, I'm someone who's never claimed before so thinks its very harsh and short sighted to be told what kind of jobs I must apply for.
Two years ago:happenstance wrote: »Why do you assume that high flyer is a great existence?
I'm 37, own my own house outright and savings so not massively worried about loosing my job, just frustrated as I'm emotionally attached and dont like to be used.
The high flyers I know look in very poor health, cheating on their preg wife etc.
If you dont have health then you don't have anything.
Losing years? :T0 -

Seeing as there is a job shortage I can't see what benefit they have to push me into any old work. Would rather get something that I will stick with long term.
Stop you claiming. Do you think the state is there as an emotional shoulder?0 -
So we just accept a system that isn't fair?
Accept it and play it.
Get what you need for as long as you need it. Get caught, take the consequences, don't get caught, reap the rewards.
That's it, you need the 50 quid a week, so take it.0 -
I would just leave the OP to get on with it. Judging from their post history, I would not believe a single word OP is spouting. Reeks of Trolling, best not to feed them really:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
"Marleyboy you are a legend!"
MarleyBoy "You are the Greatest"
Marleyboy You Are A Legend!
Marleyboy speaks sense
marleyboy (total legend)

Bet you hadn't asked! While if already claiming I wouldn't worry till it happens! you've done okay so far? How are you finding that is going? getting part time? If you're in your 'youth' and childless?
We're around the same age, although I, have had one such question directed at me of if we train you up, how do we know you won't leave? working 'p/t' that is and not same hours as before when my history is full-time even with the oow gaps
Be very interesting to know - Thanks xx0 -

:rotfl:
I can't believe this is serious.
On the off chance it is, do you really think the system should cater for someones hobby?!
Do you not have any provisions of your own?
90% of your pay? :rotfl: The bank of the state would never work like that. You're claiming JSA from the government, not maternity pay from your employers!
Actually, if you were actually a bit wiser and worldlier you would actually know that in Germany, Sweden, Japan and even Israel, unemployment benefit is actually between 60-90% of previous salary, actually.
Do keep up, chap.0 -

Sounds good on the face of it, but certainly in Sweden its the individual's responsibility to sign up for an unemployment insurance fund, generally run by trade unions.
The amount you'd then get (having become unemployed) is decided by what previous work you did, and there could be very large differences between salaries of various jobs.
Its not quite a handout...0 -
Someone who earnt such a good wage, and yet is struggling to find any work at all in their mid 30s.... you must be doing much to look for anything at all.
Of course, you could apply for full-time jobs, go to interviews, and ask then if there is an opportunity for part-time positions...
Or you could apply for a full-time job, take one up if offered, but continue to apply for part-time ones until you find one and resign from
the other.
For someone who thinks so highly of themselves, you come across as lacking a basic element of resourcesfulness!0
