Spoon feeding means having information or deeper meaning spelt out for you.

Actually, spoon feeding means feeding someone from a spoon.

OP says he is not a troll but there is a thread on a poplar parents discussion board which is virtually the same only the poster there is saying its a friend of theirs, the friend hasn't worked full time for 20 years and their children have grown up.

But the amount of jsa is the same £50 instead of £73, the problems with the JC are the same (only they are saying friend has been sanctioned) and the whining about unfairness seems very familiar .

    Know anything about that OP?

See this point doesn't even make sense. Spoon feeding means having information or deeper meaning spelt out for you.

Everyone that is employed and has contributed for the previous 2 tax years is entitled to 6 months Contribution based JSA at £73 a week,

So Either your husband was self employed or you didn't claim. If self employed he will have contributed less (depending on class of NIC) as no employers NIC paid

Correct, he was self employed in the one sector that was decimated by the recession

Still we got by, living on savings and my pt wage. Now he's just started a job, NMW but on the payroll so hopefully things can only improve. And it leaves us both time to pursue our hobbies

I'm not whinging about our lot, just saying that unless you can fund a hobby yourself you can't afford it

Where did I say I didn't save? More filling in blanks to suit your narrative.
So you either haven't saved enough to support yourself or you have and don't actually need benefits after all. You can't have it both ways to suit your story.

Reach a national level then dedicate much of your free time to it then you might make the switchover to pro.
