The point I was making is that it's not that silly to think that it's possible to get such a reasonable chunk of your previous salary.

My heavens. I swear you people need everything spoon feeding. You can really tell the lack of graduates on this forum.
You shouldn't of edited what you originally put, was spot on.

My heavens. I swear you people need everything spoon feeding. You can really tell the lack of graduates on this forum. Either that, or many of you have a mild form of autism.

Strangely enough as it may seem to you many people on the autistic spectrum are also graduates.

Ability to research or use common sense isn't exclusive to either group however .

OP Until you are making a living from your hobby-it's a hobby. If you are earning an income from it -it's a job. Not a difficult concept.

As does the OP by the sounds of it! Earns a great wage, doesn't save for a rainy day, cries when the rest of us won't pay for his hobby.

Where did I say I didn't save? More filling in blanks to suit your narrative.

You idiot. Dogs don't keep our species going. Kids do. Like it or not, we are biologically programmed to reproduce to continue our species!
But why is it that us taxpayers have to fund this programme?
But I do like your analogy, You can dump a dog but you can't dump a kid - well not in the same way. Seems that those claiming benefits are adhering to your view and are getting the planet well and truly populated, whilst those that work, have restrictions on the number that they can produce simply because they can't afford any more.

I'm pretty sure this exact same scenario was posted a few years back...

Op, if you were such a high flyer earning so much before you got the sack for under performance, why did you not save for a rainy day?

My husband has been a high tax payer all his life, and when the recession hit, he was not entitled to a single penny of govt help because he done the right thing, saved his money, paid his mortgage etc etc. He only signed to keep his NI contributions going Now he works part time ( as I do ) with the backing of our own hard work, not govt handouts

I suggest you can't afford your hobby if you are looking the tax payer to fund it. Perhaps you need to take the advice of the job centre, take on full time work and save for a time that you can support yourself

Everyone that is employed and has contributed for the previous 2 tax years is entitled to 6 months Contribution based JSA at £73 a week,

So Either your husband was self employed or you didn't claim. If self employed he will have contributed less (depending on class of NIC) as no employers NIC paid

See this point doesn't even make sense. Spoon feeding means having information or deeper meaning spelt out for you.

    You people:rotfl:
