And this is why there is a problem. You saw Farage remarks as an attack on the HIV sufferers, whilst a lot of us saw it as a statement that the NHS was not a cure for all the worlds ills.

You call it nasty , I call it common sense.

If Farage had been telling the truth you would have a point.

However, as Farage lied about the figures, you do not.

Case in point, another thread hijacked and turned into a UKIP thread.

Please support your accusation with facts.

So we haven't any ILLEGAL 'visitors' just coming to our shores just to receive FREE treatment?

And this is why the DT has problems.

Hope it will change after the election.

But will probably results in "(insert the winner or group) said they were going to do (insert manifesto policy here) and they have not done it yet".

We need more fat bashing, depression is made up, Towie people are good role models, deaths penalty is great, post.

You had the facts and figures posted on MSE at the time

As you did not bother to read them then, why would you bother now that it is old news?

The first version of his comment had it about all HIV sufferers, irrespective of origin, even including Britons now resident abroad, and irrespective of whether they may or may not be seeking treatment.

He singled out HIV, rather than discuss all infectious diseases.

Most of us would accept the opinion and advice of epidemiologists on this question, and most countries in the world do not have entry restrictions or tests for HIV.

Farage claimed at one moment that there could be a religious aspect in this argument. That's how an old example of curing of lepers entered the discussion.

He gave an example to clarify his position, he was in a debate, its what you do , to get your point across. I have no problem with his tone.

As, unlike Wallnut, you might actually read it, here is some information on the lie that Farage was caught telling, why he was telling it and where he got it from:

most countries in the world do not have entry restrictions or tests for HIV.

Most countries would not offer FREE treatment ( at a huge cost ) to a visitor
