I'm not a big opener of threads.

But I get the feeling that the posters in DT are getting fewer and fewer.

Reasons-who knows?

What's happening?

I think DT is on its way out.

Woodbine-a couple of weeks ago suggested the same in that this site is now owned by money supermarket.com and that there is no need for DT. So why have it-more trouble than its worth.

Hope I got my facts right on that one.

He might be right.

The Labour crew destroyed the room like the party they support did the country last time they were in power.

Was DT an exclusively Tory only club? Did us lefties gate crash the party?

If DT was kept 'fun and friendly' like is the intention then there wouldn't be a problem it's when you get the rather repetitive and dull party political broadcast type threads and posts, what is needed is more humour and light banter instead of the threads/posts that give the impression the poster feels superior to those who do not share their opinion or political view point!
  • I blame the election, now DT is often hijacked by extremists who only come to insult and bully people with differing views so that true discussion is no longer possible
There used to be more humourous threads and less dogma and hardly any gratuitous offensiveness

Many posters are just downright nasty and insulting.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Many posters have paper thin skin, perhaps a robust debating forum isn't the place for them.

Do you know of one, because you can't be referring to this forum surely?

You don't seemed to be allowed to discuss anything that anyone has an opinion on. So why bother?
