Thanks Bobarella
Today won't be anywhere near as crazy, as I have to take Roo to nursery which breaks up the day, and its raining
So list for today of things I would like to get done:
1. empty all bins
2. dust dining room!
3. do a couple more loads of washing! Where do they come from?! I'm sure it breeds!
4. get small shop
5. get paint
6. wipe worktops and cooker
7. put clothes away - huge job have 2 huge bags of it!
8. Plant some small seedlings
9. put stupid bunting back up and find a way to keep it up
10. finish small bunting stuff in kitchen
11. get some bedding plants for out the front
12.hang up washing
13. make jam or biscuits or bread or something!
really cross as I need to buy some more nappies! May has had 2 wees this morning on the toilet (TMI) but she's very far from being at the point where nappies aren't needed. Have just used up my stash that I bought last year when pampers where buy one get one free, but thought May would be toilet trained by now, as she started months ago as she was showing interest, i know she's really young but she has to copy everything Roo does!
Thinking of maybe trying Aldi for nappies? Have got some cloth ones, but they just didn't hold enough in and washing them was costing a fortune.
ahh best go, late!!0 -
Arghhhh need to have a good old word with myself! I'm in John Lewis having coffee, and a short bread! And have spent £20 in aldi!!!!! Although have saved on parking and have walked in.0

Ok, I did buy a lot in Aldi though, including milk, 84 nappies, hair dye, pineapple, sweet potatoes, pears, tomatoes, cheese, cereal, eggs, wholemeal flour, baking powder, oatcakes and more. So a good haul, Most will Last me well in to next week too. And I'm still within my £25 budget and I got some good exercise walking in. And I shared my shortbread with May. Have I justified it yet lol. Prob not lol. Going to go to Prim@rk and get some summer dresses for May so cheap! And need some school shoes for Roo so will go to school centre for them. Just going to finish my coffee.0

Aldi nappies are fab!! I've always been a total nappy snob! And Liv DD1 had nothing but pampers, but heard so much good stuff about Aldi nappies that I tried and DD2 Paige has nothing but Aldi ones now - so much cheaper!!!! And Aldi is by Liv's school so always go in a pick up a pack when I do the school run on a Friday.
Sounds like you had a busy weekend! I haven't stopped all weekend but have achieved relatively little. Did go on a mini shopping spree on Saturday and my mum bought the girls a load of summer dresses from Primark at £2.50 a go!!!Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Aww thanks JWIL, lovely to see you, how are you?
mumstheword, I'm so glad you said that as I am now the proud owner of 84 aldi nappies. they worked out cheaper than Tesco ones!
I know the primark dresses were so cheap, i really wanted to make some but with everything else that is going on, I can't afford the time, hate buying throw away fashion, but when I've got more time I can look into making things. And I pass all of Mays old clothes onto my cousin who has a little one, and I'm sure she passes them on to friends, so I know they will be well worn.
I have sort of hit the ground running, and try and take stock of what is important right now and what I can do ion the time I have, which several of you did say, thank you.
popped out half way through writing this to go and get Roo from nursery, and have just got a speeding ticket!!!!! grrrr very much my fault I know, but still very very annoying!!!!0 -
And kiddies are soooo tired, they are being disgustingly behaved!!! argggh they're driving me crazy! Roo is deliberately annoying May, and May is running around intermittently crying and opening the cupboard doors where the safety catch has broken!! grrr, is it too early for bed!!!!!!
and I've done very little, it appears I only manage it do stuff when I don't have to go out all day, which rules out most week days!!!!!
coffee needed0 -
Overwhelm! My kids are teens now and the challenges are different but they are no less challenging. And I am not a perfect housewife by a long chalk but I have a few tricks which help.
1. Keep the sink and kitchen very clean. Always clear up and drill it into any kid that they must clear. I got this from flylady. If you have a clean and shiny sink then it radiates outwards. It does.
2. Meal planning a week ahead.
3. Once a week blitz for an hour.
4./ Daily ten mins clearing off
5. A weekly task - kids drawers one week/ window washing next etc.
6. Aim to get rid of stuff. And never bring anything out without chucking selling giving the same number of objects if not more. This I struggle with and have failed at over the last few years. Reasons why, but it has stopped. If it isn't nailed down or in regular use I am flogging it on eBay!
7. One load of washing every day.
Its what you do everyday which counts. Little and often works best for me. The massive cleanups have never worked...they don't change your underlying habits I found!
Its still two steps forward, 1.67 steps back but over time all those .33 of a steps add up!Total debt at 18.9.17 £1950
Debts down £12,700 high in Feb 2015, £10,700 April 15, £8830 May 15, £6776 June 15 , £5857 July 15 £6970 1.3.16
£3950 15 May 2017 £3470 July 17 £2650 21.8.170 -
Pollygarter, thank you so much for taking the time to post, you are so right, and as others have said, Daily habits are key I think. The thing j seem to struggle with and which has just become apparent. On the days that Roo goes to school, I rush around getting everyone ready and getting there and end up leaving the house in a huge state, with clothes and breakfast and lunch things everywhere, that I start the day in a muddle! Just writing this a light bulb had gone off, why don't I get breakfast in dishes the night before, make the sandwiches the night before and sort out clothes and have them downstairs ready?! saves rushing around! Gosh I have so much to learn, but I do feel like things are really clicking and I need to put them into action.
One load of washing I agree is a must! The amount I did yesterday was ridiculous! Thanks again for posting.0 -
Not had a good afternoon, toddlers have been having major meltdowns due to tiredness, and Roo has managed to bang his head by walking into a huge beam post, that is in our kitchen and to my knowledge doesn't walk around the kitchen to put itself in your way, so how he managed to walk into it is beyond me. May threw a bubble mix pot at his chin and started WW3 whilst i dared spend 1 minute bringing the washing in!!!!! v V trying day and the house looks like a bomb has hit it.
haven't done much from my list at all, have done 2 loads of washing and put the dw on, made my bed and kept my room clean and crumb free. I have made biscuits which are nice, but I have scoffed 2! dreading work tomorrow as VAT to do, which will be very stressful. Can't seem to put a positive spin on things today.0
