Hmmmm having a bit of a tough time with OH, had the biggest row ever, over me feeling unappreciated. Now he's let slip were close to the oD limit on is bank account!!! I now feel terrible about spending so much on decorating the kictchen and buying bits. So it is definitely, spend as little as humanely possible on shopping! Doesn't help I spent £70 earlier in the week. Going to go through freezers and cuoboards maybe tomorrow and work out a meal plan from what we have. Will need to buy fruit and fresh stuff, but will go back to my £25 pw shopping in aldi budget for the next few weeks. Never been in this tight a situation money wise. It will be fine and I know it's not even close to how some people cope, it's just shocked me a bit! So onwards and upwards!

Still haven't done any exercise but am back in the zone as such, and feeling like I want to do some. Really need to get back to being the old me. I was told I used to be quite attractive, need to get back to that. Keep biting my nails and i keep finding grey hairs! My hair is a bit of a statement, quite long curly brown hAir and the greys show. Might have to bite the bullet and colour it! Going to sort my nails out too. I've got some natural looking stick on ones, that can cut and paint, and let mine grow underneath so
I stop biting them. Once my CC is paid off, hopefully my nails will be long enough to have done every few weeks.

Anyway am rambling. Treated myself to a glass of wine as had a shocking day with Roo and May being horrendously behaved, mostly due to tiredness, and having to bite my tongue a little when friends children kept hitting them?! Anyway, all in bed now including me.

Hope you're All ok, and thanks for posting, it keeps me going!

    Much love

    Missy

Sorry to hear that about the row. Do you not have access to the account to check how it is doing? If not and if you are the person trying to reign in the spending I'd be asking for that. It's unfair to expect you to keep to a budget if you don't know what it actually is.

Hey bobarella, OH pays for all the bills and shopping etc. I just pay for nursery with my wages. So as its his money and his account I just assume it's fine unless told otherwise, as it usually is!

Have so much washing to do today!
  • Hey mm81, I had two within 13 months of each other so really get what you're going through. For your own peace of mind, you need to get a handle on finances. You can only manage what you know about.

Missy - I agree to a certain extent why change a system if it's working, but as my friend who recently seperate from her husband has shown me, it is not a good place to be having no access to your partners wage, your joint financial situation, etc when things do go sour. I am not suggesting for one single moment this is the case for you, but she can't even sort out the telephone at their home as it's his name on the account despite him moving out. So she has to wait for his time to sort stuff out. Not fun. Unless there is a big reason why not I'd maybe push for account access at the very least. And for him to full in a full SOA like people do on here otherwise it makes budgeting extremely hard.
Sorry if that sounds at all patronising or nosey of your life. Just hate seeing my friend in such a bad position at the moment.

Ah so so sorry I have been MIA. It has all been manic with OH home and working and no nursery etc.

Well so far I have spent the £200 on hair removal and another £56 on birthday presents on my CC! Which is rubbish, but £500 was paid off it last month, and another £500 has gone out today.
Have another manic couple of days ahead of me now. It's Mays first day at nursery tomorrow (sob) and also OHs last day at home for a month. So we're going out for breakfast, then I've got an exam on Thursday and I'm working all day Friday! And that's not going into all the things I need to do tonight. Go straight to beauticians after work, to be defuzzed, then to sainsburys to pick up school uniform! Have left this far too late! Then I need to come home, put the littlies to bed that OH has hopefully fed, make us some dinner, fill in May's nursery paperwork, then finally revise for my exam on Thursday!!!! Not sure how I'm going to fit it all In. Think I'm in denial about May going, hence why I haven't done anything for it!!!
Went do over budget last month for shopping so really need to reign it in, but with a sensible budget. Have no idea what I'm going to make for dinner tonight, trying to be healthy but OH was rather unhappy about the prospect of butternut lasagne!!!! Butternut curry maybe?

How is everyone else getting on?
  • Hey good to see you back!!! Just got home from France and trying to get back on the frugal/debt busting wagon but struggling!
I'm dreading my littlie starting preschool! Thankfully she has another year and a half but it goes so quickly! And its especially hard when they're the baby and the last one.
Good luck with the exam! I don't know how you do it with two little ones!
Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£310

    Hiya Missy
Blimey your OH is going away for a whole month? That is long.
How about butternut dahl? Its gorgeous. Just need some tinned toms, & a tin of coconut milk, plus curry powder to make the base. Then chuck in some red lentils & your main veg, in this case butternut. Top up the pot with some stock & then leave the simmer away for an hour. It is good!!!

Hope your little one has a good day at nursery, it is scary how it comes around.

    All the best
    Bob

Hey mumstheword, I hope you had a lovely time away. And thanks Bob, that sounds delish, ended up with a Chinese tonight, as OH had to go out too, so wouldn't have eaten til about 9! Will save your recipe for next week though Bob :)
Managed to do what I needed, so all ready for tomorrow! Am just in bed. Will be back on my tidying and decluttering as of Thursday night! Right, sleep!
