All ok, but both toddlers are horrendously whingey and tired. Can get anything done!

Rethinking the whole food budget thing, one point of my plan was to try and feed my family better more wholesome food, now I like a challenge, but we all know that things like brown rice and pasta an organic milk and higher welfare meat are going to cost some. So I'm going to have another look at my budget and see what I can do.

Have no idea how I'm going to keep sane with these two whingepots!!

Not done too badly today, have changed the littlies beds again and washed and hung them on the line, washed another load and put them on the line, I love this windy weather for drying washing. Have eaten tons today :( don't know what's wrong with me! Consequently just rolled my top up to catch some Rays in the garden and wished I hadnt, roll city! Think I best do some exercise tonight!!! Have done some weeding and the DW too. Have my assignment to start which I'm really not looking forward too!!!

I think it's so hard not to comfort eat when you are tired. Is there something low cal and delicious you like that you can keep to hand for bad times? Thinking diet coke, real fruit lollies, hummus what whatever works for you best.

Also on the shopping front yes it is true that the healthier versions of many things do seem to be more expensive. Have you considered a buying cooperative with some locals to bulk buy these things cheaper?

ah thanks bobarella, you do write some wonderful advice. Have had constant interruptions with studying tonight. Both Roo and May have been up, every half an hour or so one of them is whimpering. Poor Roo is boiling. May wouldn't go to sleep unless you she had her arms clamped around my neck, whilst i tried my best to lay next to her, in her tiny toddler bed!. Roo also wanted cuddles, but bless him he was so hot, I didn't know what to do with him, so I just ended up talking about our camping trip when daddy gets home, and how were going to go to the seaside and have ice-cream.

Have completely lost all sense of concentration, probably because Ive been up since 4.30, just putting a tesco order in as needs must right now as I'm housebound with the sick babies, but it's not working on my phone! Will have to try on the computer, thats if I don't fall asleep first!

Oh blimey it's all kicking off at your house! Is it Tuesday your OH gets home did you say? All I can say is I always gave Calpol for high temps as standard. It seems to help & if they sleep better so do you. Obviously not recommending drugging kids here but we are both sensible adults!

Yep definitely always have calpol. Had helped to bring their temperature down. May seems fine this morning, she keeps saying 'why?' All the time, she's not even 2 yet! Roo is still sleep fingers crossed he's ok.
I fell asleep last night but I did manage to do the shopping online. Didn't realise that pampers did pull ups. There's a deal on and they were 2p a nappy cheaper than huggies, even at BOGOF.

Didn't get much of my assignment done, I was falling asleep. Are my weight in food yesterday, no fruit or veg either! best do better today!

Yes OH comes home on Monday night, im working Monday and Tuesday then we're off camping Wednesday morning for 3 nights. Going to be really busy, really need to get the house all nice and tidy and clean by the time OH gets home. So have today to do that all day today, every room is awful. Need to work on my assignment all evening. So much to do, also need to sort out everything for camping, but I'll wait till OH is home for that.

Can't remember if I said but I managed to plant 50 seeds, of tomato plants courgettes, cucumbers, peppers etc, and I managed to weed out the raspberries and the potatoes. Still have lots more to do, but won't be today.

On the feeding my family healthy, wholesome food, I've managed to find a farm that sells milk from its gate and cheese and will soon sell butter! It's not too far from my grand parents house so I can go and see them at the same time.

    Right best do something.
  • we used to have a lovely veg patch at our old house! we dug a small one last year (we've been here two years - the first one I was pretty much pregnant for) - now we have a springer spaniel who favourite hobby is digging - digging the veg patch and my empty pots. I'm resigned to abandoning the garden this year although I will miss the fresh runner beans, courgettes and potatoes. My aunt dropped some seeds through the door for me that she got off of gardeners world, some basil, rocket, lettuce and tomatoes. I might just plant them. I can always have the tomatoes in baskets.
Hubby is doing another car boot this morning, so no lay in for me! I haven't had a decent sleep since Tuesday and really beginning to suffer.
What would we do without calpol!!!
Have a lovely day, hope it a successful one x

hey mumstheword, how did OH get on at bootsale? You've just reminded me I need to grow basil, and all herbs really. I have an announcement, some of the little seeds I planted a few days ago, have popped up above the surface!!! Not all of them, but some and I'm so pleased!!!!!! Never grown tomatoes etc from seed, so this will be a first.

Really need to get my plan sorted for doing stuff, as have so little time, and both littlies have been so clingy I haven't had much chance to do anything. So littlies will hopefully sleep for a bit now, so I can do half an hour of my assignment, tonight whilst they bathe, I will endeavour to have a quick run around upstairs to sort things, Assignment all night.

Tomorrow morning, quick shower, best shave legs for OH's benefit I guess lol. downstairs first thing to sort downstairs, then work, then when back another run around for a quick hour before OH gets home. and that will have to do. God all i want to do is chill out in the garden.
