Hiya
The 365 project sounds interesting. I'd say your best place to start is a structured audit of every item of food you already own. Use a spreadsheet or what ever works for you. Then you can work out how many meals you can make from it all. Even if you managed a month of only spending on fresh fruit, milk etc then imagine the saving!
I believe people can spend a lot less on food than they first imagine.

Not doing too badly, despite having been up since 3am as May has been really sick all morning bless her! Have managed to wash sicky bedding and hang it on the line. And the dark load, as she puked on her dressing gown and blanket. I had a bowl of chilli for breakfast! I know, I know, but it felt like lunchtime I've been up for so long! Had a really nice hm bread hm coleslaw type sandwich, with half a packet of crisps. And.... I've also been a bit naughty and eaten a little kinder bar and a biscuit!!!!
On a brighter note, May seems a little bit brighter and hasnr been sick for a while but still really poorly. I did manage to make 10 hm bread rolls and some banana biscuits while she slept, so I still don't need to go to tesco.
Been thinking a lot about my shopping budget, OH should hopefully be home on Monday and when he's home we usually eat more and as we're going camping that means BBQs, which means meat and expense. So going to really try and stick to my £25 budget. OHs beer is not coming out of that budget!!!0 -
Oh no bless her, hope its just a 24 hour thing...." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Awe, poor May. Hopefully it's a short lasting bug.
Well done on the weight loss. I was a bit naughty and had a twix extra as part of my lunch. My sandwich just looked so unappetising I needed something extra.
Is that £365 per person? The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

The £365 the woman on the blog was per person, I'm wondering if I could do it, say £3 a day to include me, OH and 2 littlies. The trouble is all the fresh fruit, the small ones eat..... It works out around £25 a week of you add in a £10 contingency for super bargains per month. Think I'll stick to that and see how far I go on £25 a week for the rest of this month.
Mays still poorly, she's just so hot but says she's cold, Roo went to bed, pale and cold and complaint of tummy ache, so I think
I'm in for a long night!
Oh scottishmummy, I love twix, am just sitting here wondering what I can eat!0 -
Hmmm having a bit of a rethink, I'm losing sight of whAt's important.
Will be back later to post properly, hope you're all waking up to a sunny Saturday.0 -
Hope the children are better today? You have been doing so well. Unwell kids will drain the energy of even the most resourceful person so try not to make any big decisions or assumptions right now. Think big picture, read back over your good days. All the best.
