Gosh do you, I've only ever made soup and cooked ham joints in it.
But as you jogged my memory, I've just got it out of the cupboard and filled it with a veggie type shepherds pie, with lentils, carrots sweetcorn, split peas and onions, with a few oxo cubes and half a butternut, hopefully it will be ok?! Going to do some sweet potato mash or something with it later. But thanks for the reminder, I'd forgotten all about it, haven't used it for months! Wondering if I can make fat free dumplings..... doubtful!:o0 -
P.s. both children refused to eat their breakfast and are now refusing lunch, sigh, this is unusual and I know its because they're tired after being up late last night, but its so frustrating! and such a waste of food! I don't give them anything else, its that or nothing, but they don't seem to care?! Obviously they haven't inherited my love of food, either that or it's my cooking!!!!0

OMG I have just seen food unwrapped, whilst standing up eating my lunch, I don't usually watch these sorts of programmes, but Wow, I'm even more into my mission of eating fresh wholesome unprocessed food. Actual metal filings in cornflakes to add iron?! I don't think so. This has reawakened my whole organic mindset which I managed for a while, then got lazy and stopped caring what I was putting in my mouth. I think I'm going to have another look at the food I want us to eat, and see where the best place to get it on a decent budget!!! Another task!!!!! Lol I don't make things simple for myself do I?!0

That's work finished. Wasn't too bad. It can either be completely dead or, like today, tonnes of work comes in for the last hour.
I usually weigh myself Monday mornings before getting in the shower. At least, I try to remember to. I don't think I have posted my actual weight on my diary but do post losses :j or gains
Lidl's Oakland organic veg is really good and reasonably priced too. I have a decent size garden that I have previously grown veg in and want to do so again but it doesn't look like I'll get there this year. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.
Diet loss starting Sept 2019 0/80lbs:eek::o

Oooh scottishmummy, thanks for that! I didn't realise lidl sold Organic, I haven't been in there for years and I know Aldi doesn't.
Glad you've finished work. I will happily weigh monday mornings, I don't think I'll post my actual weight but lbs/kgs loss I willdo you have a diary too?

Just read your diary scottishmummy, you really do have your hands full!
I've just sent a couple of emails to local places with reference to organic veg boxes etc. But crikey they're expensive. I'm going to have to do some more research.
Oooh thanks loopybecs, it actually smells nice and Me and May have just made dumplings to go with our stew, I made them without suet but with olive oil, and halved the recipe, so I hope its nice and not too calorific.0 -
Hi, hope you don't mind me stopping by. My two boys are 21 months apart so I know how you feel. They are big guys now - things do get better, I promise.
I would totally agree re the slow cooker. I still use mine a lot. Tip: make a big batch of ratatouille in the slow cooker, whizz it up into a pasta sauce. Buy a big bag of frozen mince, the lower the fat content the better. Dry fry it and leave it to cool, drain off any excess. Add the mince, cook for another 20 mins or so. Batch up and freeze for a quick spag bol, lasagne or jackets.
Don't forget you can cook a whole chicken in a slow cooker. Big chunks of onion in the pot first and place chicken on top. No water. Cook. Any leftovers can be used to make a pie. Sainsburys do lower fat puff pastry which I use and I'm on SW. Chicken for nibbles and on salad for lunches?
No gravy required!
As for tidying: I know it's like painting the Forth Bridge but just do one cupboard at a time if needs be. My boys used to play drums on the saucepans while I cleaned that cupboard and then they moved on to building towers with the tupperware when I did that cupboard.
Garden: we have a local charity here that are training young people with mental health disabilities (sorry if that's not the pc description) to find jobs by getting them out to people's gardens to learn a trade. You pay what you can afford. Perhaps see if there is something similar or a local college with students who want experience for a small fee. Get ebaying, get some cash in and pay someone else to do some of the jobs. I know that's not very MSE with a cc debt but if it means you can get of top of things, less stressed, time to deal with the cc etc. do it!
Sorry if I've overstepped.0
