Stress levels at home is the next one. To be honest I think this will come with the rest, I know once the house is sorted and tidy and I can do a bit each day I won't feel so pressured or down when the house appears to be a mess, as I know it won't take long to tidy as everything will have a home. And less time tidying means more fun time. I need to get more sleep and eat better to make me happier, I'm lovely (if I do say so myself!) when I've eaten right and had enough sleep, bright and bubbling and fun, when I haven't I'm like a sloth, and all grumpy and snappy. Not good. But in the change in diet and exercise, I should sleep better too, so heres hoping, I don't have to stress about this one, that it should fix itself. That and I need to remember to take a deep breath and count to ten before shouting or stamping my feet, or remember to run to the bathroom to silently scream into the towel, much better than screaming at children :)

    OK Stress levels at work:
This is a case of organisation, I need to spend some time sorting the office and files all out, and going over things and checking there is no mistakes so I don't worry about them. Changing software so that everything is done online so that nothing can be missed is also being done next week. Trouble is I struggle with motivation, I work in an office half of the time on my own, the work isn't particularly scintillating, so I get distracted, end up on here, or making endless lists on what I should be doing, which means the work although its getting done could definitely be done better and with less stress, with working to tight self-made deadlines!! So I think if I allow myself a lunch break, which I don't usually, I can spend the time doing whatever I like, not feel bad about it, and hopefully get it out of my system!!

Future and career, hmmm this is tricky, with hubby working away, I'm fortunate in the sense I don't have to work full time, and the time we have as a family is important, hence the only working 2 days, but it would be so much nicer if I could earn more money, so we could get our dream house and OH could work less hours. That would mean being an accountant, which I know I can study for, and hopefully work from home once qualified, but I'm wondering whether it will all be worth it etc, whether I would get the work to warrant me being able to do it, and to afford the training, whether I could actually undertake the training with my family commitments... I have looked into it, but there was so little advice for someone like me, as opposed to a new graduate or someone who worked for an accountancy firm already.....

So more research into my career is needed. And more organisation at work is also needed. After this week when the VAT return is done, I'm hoping i can knuckle down and get organised. And taking an hour for me but thats it!!!!

Quite pleased with this one as have been worrying about this.

Ok Credit card. I have looked at my finances, and in the short term, I can afford to pay off £500 a month on it. If I'm super careful, this leaves me with about £100 for me, (all other bills come out of the house account etc, which my OH pays). But I all have to make sure I don't just keep spending on my CC when the cash runs out!! As that is exactly what I do! It needs to stop. When my CC is paid off, I can start saving, start a pension (I know I should have one by now :( ) and maybe contribute to the house etc.

So I need to be more careful, which means, I think i should just leave my CC at home, I have the house acct card for emergencies, and my bank card, which to be honest usually has very little in, but its the way it has to be! And I need to remove it from, @maz0n and from £bay, as they are my downfall!! That way I can get rid of it, hopefully by my birthday in september, and I can start the next year of my life, free!!

    Ok bringing house bills down:

This is silly as I actually enjoy doing this, I find it a challenge, but I get waylaid and it doesn't get done.

Ok we try and save on lots of things, I'm going to try and grow veg this year, and we have 2 log burners for heating downstairs in winter, we have solar panels for heating the water and for the electric in the summer. But I need to remember to use the energy the panels give and not switch the washing machine on at 6am!!

Food bills, i range from being super scrimper extraordinaire to the lavish of lavish town! So i need to get back on the scrimping wagon, and make a meal plan, do a cupboard and freezer inventory and see what I can do with the budget, whilst making sure we get our 5 a day and I eat well enough to lose some weight and feel better!

So I'm going to try and think about being more organised and only put appliances on when there is energy there to be used. Remember to turn lights off upstairs (really bad habit!) not leave the tv's on in rooms we're not in, another awful habit. Try and remember to take things out the freezer so they're not defrosting in the microwave for 20 minutes! Not waste food!!!

And I'm going to do a shop in Aldi on Tuesday morning, armed with £25, which really should be enough as we have soooo much food in, due to my massive overspending last month! And see how it compares to tesco. I'm going to also write a list, something else I don't do. Oooh I'm going to get my bread maker out, I have huge amounts of bread making ingredients which I can easily make a loaf a day with :) I will post and let you know how I get on :)

So, thats it, that is my plan of action:

  • Hi, have just read through from the start and my head's fizzing. Goodness only knows what it does to you actually facing all of this. While I think it's great that you want to jump in straight away, would it be worthwhile keeping a diary of household activities for a week so you could see when other things could be accommodated and not burn yourself out?

Hello in need of direction, Lovely to see you thanks for posting. I know my head is fizzing on a daily basis. That's a really good idea, I'll write down each day what gets done and when, may bore you all with it on here :)

Yes I have a slow cooker mummytogirls. I don't use it much, although I know I should, I struggle a little bit when OH is home, he does NOT eat gravy! sauce he eats, but not beefy type gravy, so casserole and stew is out, although I love stew, hmmm dinner tonight maybe.

Littlies now awake, have put another wash load in, bleached the loo, unloading and reloaded the dw, cleared away the breakfast things and cleaned the windows on the door, only on the inside though. Not a lot but a definite start!
