Fmess you are doing brilliantly how quick were you getting to under 4k. After this week's excursion I will be seriously debt busting.
Wishus well done on your weight loss and your running.
Sorry didn't check in yesterday I was in a really lazy mood. Slept in till 10.30 I never lye in as usually ends up in backache think my chest is better for good rest. Had nice lunch in garden with daughter and grandson. Didn't feel up to going to local airshow so they went and i just planted few tubs and lazed in the sun.
Sfd yesterday and today, sfd 16/20 just had a deep clean of house today and a couple of dog walks. Packed for London!!!LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Hi everyone!
Yesterday was day off for me. Calling We went to the airshow. It was really good, but so so busy! Took us over half an hour to do what is normally less than 10 minute drive home. Was a good free day out though and we took a picnic to eat on the beach. Also spent the rest of the M&S voucher on some new (much needed) undies.
Back to reality and work today. I have to report that I have borrowed £3900 on my credit card...but let me explain...I have been paying off my car finance which I thought was on 5% interest but looking at the paperwork the apr is actually 11%. I had an offer on my old card to do a bank transfer interest free so I am using this to pay off the finance. Not only will it save me interest, but will mean I can make overpayments as and when I can afford them.
Got 4 days off later this week so am researching some free/cheap days out with the kiddies.0 -
Hi all! Sorry I didn't check in yesterday, I have been at a friend's all weekend. We went to the Forbidden Corner today, 5hrs driving for me as a round trip but on balance worth it - lots to look at and very fun. Budgeted £35 and spent £25 so happy. So this weekend is spendy, but tomorrow shouldn't be.
Just a quick one from me, hope everyone is okayBought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free!

Academia had to Google the forbidden corner, thought it was an area on the naughty step I hadn't been yet.
Friday I bought myself a maxi dress, £35. That's why taken so long to confess. Trouble is now will have to go out lots to get my monies worth out of it. Felt guilty all weekend. Will make camp on the naughty step rest of the month. Hangs head in shame xLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Today I am grateful for running around with dd, for getting out in the sunshine, for easy peasy felt mice, for z1ff1t accepting my gubbins, for dh researching sonic squirrel deterents (we may soon be both mouse and squirrel free!)NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Calling - maxi dresses last for forever and are so comfy - £35 sounds great! If you have it for say here years and wear it 10 times a year it's not much at all
DH wants me to wear dresses more often and the only ones I like usually come from F@tface - aka crazy expensive. But I limit myself to one a year if there's one I really love and they last for forever
Today we should be off out but I'm hoping DH has either forgotten or will pay, I wanted to go to a local English Heritgae site today but didn't realise they had an event on which doubles the cost of the tickets. On the bright side my diet is going great and I've lost the weight I put on over our honeymoon, hurrah
Have a lovely day Turtles! Does anyone want some rhubarb? Mine has turned into a triffid!

Good morning.
Was just rambling over on my diary and thought I would come over to share something that I found quite weird. It's a bit difficult to understand why but bear with me.
My brother has recently been made redundant. Whilst it wasn't completely unexpected (the oil industry are doing mass lay-offs just now), we were hoping he would get missed out.
So, we are all at my parent's house discussing this news and what the next steps were and I (thanks to MSE) casually mention that you should be able to feed a family of four for roughly £250 a month.
My sister-in-law says "surely that's a week" and I repeat myself. It turns out that they spend about £200 a week on shopping!!
My dad then turns to me and says "that can't be possible, you guys spend £240 a month". Turns out my dad thought that we both contributed £120 a month to the food budget.
Erm... nope. We survive (well, try to) on £40 a week for food.
It's sounds daft but I felt strangely proud of the fact that we do manage to stick to our goals (sometimes).
It turns out that even my parents spend £100 a week on shopping and there is only two of them as well.
Anyways... sorry about the rambling. Just thought it was interesting how other people react when they are faced with cutting spends.
Hugs to everyone.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

I'm with you, Stewby.
I limit our food budget (2 of us + cat) to £120 a month, and that includes any takeaways or eating out. I never bring a shopping list to the SM and try and only buy items on offer or yellow-stickered. So, just plan meals around what I've managed to buy, rather than planning my shopping around the meals I'd like to make.Letting Go NST #17

Hello and Happy Bank Holiday to one and all
We have only 7 days until May is over, so it is time to keep things in check AND start to plan for June.
I shall fail to hit the 20 NSD - by quite a lot, which is unusual for me. And with this week being half term, I know I can't reach it. However, this will not thwart my big plan (FIRE). So far I am under budget for food - again, this is unusual! But my 'other' spends seem quite high - must scrutinise them as some of it was birthday money, so it's probably not as much as it 'feels'.
I know many people do an end-of-month summary, but I find that I tend to fizzle out and not record it all for the last few days, so looking at it now helps me see where I am on track. Or not!
So, keep at it lovely turtles!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
