WelshKitty nice to see you back, well done on completing your assignment and well done on having savings. I can only dream of them at moment. Where you off to on holiday?

Do have loyalty card thing thanks had 10% off Bodnant Garden last year. Will have to look closer what it covers, with Zoo membership and NT membership - hard job trying to fit much else in. Zoo is now a regular Sunday afternoon pop in, with a flask and few nibbles even it is just down the road, Grandson loves picnics!

Bob trying to get a SFD in but its not going to happen today. Other friend back from visiting her son in hospital so will pop in and give her some flowers/ wine later as last week has been horrendous shock for her. Stuck at 13/20.

Living off soup at moment, with my sore throat, Bob yours sounds good value for money and in London next week - just hoping train strike doesn't go ahead. Not as if I can go a day earlier as my daughter only arrives back in the country on Monday. Will not be a happy bunny.

Off to update my totals and plan my afternoon off.

    Evening all,

    Happy birthday the only girl

Today was a SFD and a LTW day :) and tomorrow is payday :j I am so excited to pay some more off my debt. I am keeping your words in mind apple muncher and celebrating the fact that I am still making payments towards my debt and not increasing it, even when having an expensive month.

I am very grateful to have a couple more tutoring sessions booked in for the next two weeks, so some extra money still coming in :)

I am also very grateful for some lovely students who brought me some lilies and wine as a thank you for teaching them for the last two years. Today was their last day and I will definitely miss them as they were a lovely class to teach. I find this time of year quite weird as a secondary school teacher - its exciting but nerve wracking (sp) that the exams are here, sad that lovely classes are leaving, joyous that not so lovely students are leaving, relaxing because I have less lessons but more stressful because I have exam marking. Sorry for the ramble.

Evening turtles! It's quiet around here today :)The Only Girl, hope your birthday has been a good one!
Another NSD, LTW and managed to get a workout in as well, so feeling pretty pleased with myself :D Tomorrow will potentially be a spendy one - need to buy a bit of food but will try to get it all YS if I can - another challenge for me. Hope all other turtles are gearing up for the weekend too :)

Thank you sam and academia - nice to see some more stationery nuts around :)

Happy birthday the only girl! I hope you've had a really special day :)

NSD for me today, had a bit of a moment at work when I was told (very nicely) that the top I was wearing (one of my very last smart ones) wasn't appropriate as the straps were too thin. Then the realisation that all of my work tops are either like that or getting scruffy and faded. Cue a bit of a snivel and worrying that I can't afford to buy new work clothes at the moment and thinking I'll bang them on the credit card. Then...dingdingding...lightbulb... I've been asking for work shirts for years now, so put together a very polite email...and I've been allowed to order some paid for by the company :) no more worrying about what to wear to look smart for work, and I can claim that little bit of tax relief for washing work uniform! Woohoo!

Thank you. We are off to Tunisia in just over 2 weeks. Cannot wait! Savings have been hard work and taken a lot of discipline but they are my safety net for whilst I am studying for my masters as my wages won't be great and I'm not sure if I will get any financial help.

Keep your card in a safe place. A little birdie told me that they are extending where it can be used. Glad you are getting your money's worth from the zoo membership. I love it there and was amazed by all the changes they had done last time we were there.

    Hiya.

Just a quick post from me. granny got home late last night so have spent the day sorting out the house for her.
she looks tired and more her age but the spark is still there which makes me very happy.
    :D

A wee bit annoyed as I spent the day moving furniture and climbing up and down stairs, yet only did 6k steps. Convinced machine must be broken.
    :p

sorry for the wee post but absolutely shattered and away to snooze. Nighty night turtleys.

    p.s - happy b-day the only girl.

Thank you all for the lovely wishes and greetings. It really IS nice to be one of the turtles.

I had a very MSE birthday. We went to our favourite MSE Italian restaurant. I was joined by my family, my brothers, my bff, our church pastor and their families. Our total bill came to £146 (there were 21 of us) but we went Dutch so I only had to pay £31 plus tip (we had the best waiter ever). I got what I wanted (NO PRESENTS). Instead I splurged on a bit of shopping for moi, a combination mod wants and needs - 2 tops, a pair of jogger bottom, and a maxi dress for only £20. I am not going to feel guilty as both expenses were budgeted for and there's leftover in the budget afterwards. It would have been perfect if my husband was able to take the day off (it's the first time he wasn't allowed a day off on my birthday and for that I feel slightly neglected). But I am sure he didn't intend to make me feel that way. It's just unlucky he has an unsympathetic boss
