Feel flat today, trying to get motivated. So fed up of budgeting and not getting anywhere fast.

100 pounds paid off cards today. Won't be paying anymore off this month though.

SFD remaining at 12 as actually bought flowers on way home and petrol yesterday so Bob you are beating me now.

So glad I bought the flowers, my friend is having an awful time and nice to cheer her up just for a while.

So busy in work and head still full of cold not helping roll on the long weekend.

    Grateful for
Some good news, friends son op went well and recovering faster than they expected.
Cuddles and fun with grandson later.
Throat feeling better, the razorblades in there gone today.
Funniest bunny decided to follow me this morning and try to trip me up but made me laugh.

    Back to the grindstone .............

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Calling - I feel a bit similar. We've had an emergency repair costing at the moment around £1400 come up at the flat. We can't put it off as it is dangerous not to do it. I can't help but feel bitter about the £1400 I could have paid off my cards. We are using some payout money to fund it. It is hard just crawling along paying off £100 a month at a time.

Bob and Calling - don't be disheartened. Calling, especially if you've just managed to pay off a chunk on your cards, that should make you proud! It might not be as much as you would have liked, but every bit is going to help.

I'm trying to do as much as I can that's new and free and have started filling my diary with these for the summer - things like a cycling and picnic day, and a cycling festival near me. And I've also signed up for some tennis coaching, seeing as I enjoyed cardio-tennis! :jI am also determined to make it to Parkrun this week. I've been a bit slack there lately.

OH went for another walk yesterday with a friend and they walked 9 miles altogether, just from the town centre out to a little pub. Halfway there, the heavens opened and they realized that not much of what they were wearing was watertight. But... there was the pub. They went in, and I picture their glasses all steamed up as they glanced at the menus on the table. They saw "soup of the day" was available - ah, lovely soup! Leek and potato, apparently. They ordered two bowls at £6 each.

When the soup arrived, it was served in those wide-rim dessert bowls - the kind you see on Masterchef if they decide to do a posset. And they had two tiny slices of bread each. OH's friend put his spoon in the bowl, and the soup didn't even cover a quarter of it. They were :mad::mad:.

They complained and got a second bowl each - but that still wasn't a full portion. How mean!

Anyway, OH may not have had an NSD (I did :)!!), but he's getting out and getting fresh air. We'll chip away...

Chicken Challenge last night was only eating 100g of roast chicken, which I flavoured with nettle pesto. More chicken and nettle pesto tonight, but with mushrooms, courgettes and spaghetti!

We got free donuts at work yesterday, but I didn't have the WW points, so I sneaked mine into a box to have today and had veggie soup for lunch instead of sarnies. The best things in life are free!

Got to buy milk on the way home, but I have a voucher for 18p off, and will Shopitize and Quidco the receipt when I get in for maximum cashback. :)
    Keep reading books!
August grocery challenge budget £150, £90.14 spent in total - £59.86 remaining.

Thanks Calling. That made me laugh!

Wishus - I think its addictive to want to clear the debt. Once you start you want MORE, BIGGER or lesser anyway :)

I serve soup at my place. I charge £4.50 a bowl & you get a proper sized bowl with 3 good ladel (sp?) fulls, plus a good chunk of bread or baguette. Soup is so cheap to make, I'd be enraged to pay £6 for a bowl of nothing. Poor hubby :(

No NSD here for me :( I had an I'm bone tired binge so that was a fiver gone. Seeing as it's a spend day anyway I'm going to order the shopping so I dont end up with another spend day on Saturday :) does that make sense?

Thank you for all the good wishes - DH thinks the interview went well so hopefully *fingers crossed* Being on JSA is destroying his soul.

Just got to return my certificate to the registry office now and I can get on with the name changes - they didn't bother to sign it as a true copy so yet another in the catalogue of mess-ups they made over our wedding. Sigh

    Bake Off Boss!
Oh Samiszel, what sad news :(wishus, nettle pesto sounds yum!
Another SFD today, LTW and a workout. Legs are really protesting today and I'm really shattered again as well - trying to work up the energy to get in the bath! A nice man came over to have a look at our shower (OH still not sorted it in spite of paying £90 to someone for a "diagnostic" last month!) - he is coming on Saturday to fix it and he isn't charging over the odds, so I'm pleased. If you want something doing...!
Likely to be spendy over the weekend, but pleased with how much I've managed to save this month so far. Turtle power!
Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free! :D

    Evening all,

Hugs calling and bob - I am feeling the same at the moment. Its payday on Friday and I'm already sad that I can't pay as much off my debt as I want to because I am actually doing things in June.

Today was SFD number 9, LTW and I have already done 13000+ steps :) I did some tutoring too but need to hold on to the money to pay for some things that are coming up this week and I don't currently have the money in the bank to pay for them.

Going to go play with my spreadsheets and hope it lifts my mood.
