Zara at the vets - Cruciate Ligament - surgery 01/05/15

Was in the starbucks just on the bottom of the Shard today and was wondering how would one get up if the lifts broke hehehe0

Well - I am taking Zara to the vets tomorrow morning and she will have her surgery tomorrow.
Spoke to her vet today, will be probably picking her up on Saturday afternoon.
Frankly, managing the stairs now is much harder than it was when she had her his done. I ordered this harness for her:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/css/order-history/ref=nav_gno_yam_yrdrs
as I hope it will be easier to support her - with a collar and a sling it is just too hard on the stairs as if/when she pulls the collar "suffocates" her when we walk down the stairs.
One of the ordered comfy post op collars arrived today, it fits her but when I tried it on - she can still reach her leg - if she chooses to have a go at her stitches. So this one will be going back.
The other 2 collars I ordered will arrive tomorrow so will see how they work.
Thanks a lot everyone xx0 -
Good luck with it all, hope if all goes smoothly. She'll be through recovery before you know it.0

One of my friends offered to take Zara to her house after the operation.
As much as I love my hairy girl and want her with me, I have to think about increasing the risk of something going wrong with the operated on or other leg while having to manage the stairs up and down 3 times per day so I decided to take my friend on this offer.
Friend has her own 3 dogs and takes dogs on home boarding basis when people go away and I trust her with Zara 100%.
Her own dog had hip replacement straight after Zara's one - she knows what she is taking on having Zara post op.
House with garden and just 1 or 2 steps, Zara will be on the ground floor and my friend is at home all day.
It will be for the best.
Zara will be staying with Ewa

Waiting for the vet to call me after the surgery, dropped Zara off at 08:10.
Nervous wreck, hope all goes well for my girl0 -
That's a proper result with the friend. What a gem! At least you know you are giving her the best possible chances for smooth recovery. Fingers crossed0

That is good news, takes all the worry away, and may well help her recover quicker.I am sure she will be fine at the vets and it saved you having to wait for Noel, excellent though he is !0
