Naughty marmite bought something on @mazon yesterday,so no nsd.I have high hopes for today though.

cheexy almost at double figures, that's ace! :j:j

pollygarter I would be tempted to count your son's daily train fare as one spend, tbh.
As for the shops 'calling',could you set aside a small sum of money as a 'treats' fund, meaning that you could still indulge, but once it's gone,it's gone?
It's very hard to change all our spendy ways at once,so cut yourself some slack. It sounds like you're doing really well.
Mind you,you say that you have to walk near the shops to get to work.Don't let yourself walk past them. What you don't see,you can't be tempted by....It works for me,and it makes a BIG difference.
Good luck for that nsd today. :)

Elliesmum just one more to get your target! :j:j
Hubert thanks you for the apple. ;)

Nargle honestly, who was taking notes last night - they're totally illegible.

    Well done to:

scotmum you can keep the 'old' forum format by going to the 'User Control Panel'.Right down at the bottom (on the left hand side) click on 'Forum Version Manager' and you then click on the 'old' version.
Hope this helps.I hate the new version!

ps you still get the new format until you log in.

Hoping for another NSD today, about time too! I blame that Mrs Doyle for feeding Good Boy Doggy chocolate to the Narglehounds, they seem to have lost their appetite for hunting.

I see Eurovision is next Saturday so we only have a week to work out strategies to boost our boys' chances with My Lovely Random-Four-Legged-Animal-depending-on-what-costume-Knitwitch-comes-up-with. Faster with those needles, woman, the nation depends on you!

Thanks to this and other challenges here I am now in credit at the bank. Not paying interest on my debts at all today. Phew.

Take heart in the fact that you are now in credit at the bank, that's a great achievement :j

I get the 'precious' things calling as I am a sucker for charity shops...:o

I hope today is a NSD for you - good luck.

    EM xx
You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.
    Plato ;) Make £2018 in 2018 no. 37 - total = £1626.25/£2018 :j

    Yikes - next week!

I must speak to Knit Witch pronto. She was supposed to be knitting me a new pair of golden and purple hotpants to go with my Spongebob platforms...as a tribute to ABBA,of course. ;)

    Oh,and I had a 'to do' list...let me see....make a 'to do' list for the big night.....oh dearie me...right,to work,lassie!

    Hair
    Make up
Hoof extensions and false eyelashes and bouffant wig for Hubert.
    Lucky Unmentionables
    Clothes (Other)
    Igor's chest wig
Snacks, meals and tea (go on!) for The Big Night
    Tranquillizers/sedatives/drink
Extra large nappies and donkey spanx
    Singing Exercises
Dancing lessons as Igor has two left feet....
    The adoring,screaming fans .... what?
    The bunting
A large sum of money to bribe the judges,or maybe just have a nice cake full of [STRIKE]cocaine[STRIKE][/STRIKE][/STRIKE],oops,raisins.
Large portions of Igor's famed sprouts vindaloo curry and several gallons of Ye Olde Fartinge Bishope for the other contestants on The Big Day.
    Am I forgetting anything?

    Good point Elliesmum.

I'm not sure what the answer is to the lure of the charity shop....do you actually need all the things you buy?Can you have a charity shop budget,so at least you feel that your spending is controlled?
    Cut down on visits?
    Tricky,I know.

ETA I do find that nsd hunting has become as addictive as spending used to be.

Don't forget the itching powder to go inside the costumes of all the other contestants......And Bert Scroggins promised us a batch of his famous unfadeable orange fake tan......And a few bottles of champagne for us when the stress gets oh too much to bear......

Elliesmum - limit your charity shop visits to those times when you have presents to.buy, or when there is something you actually need. And as marmite says, have a separate budget for that sort of thing.
