    Frankly you should be ashamed of yourself. Your family bought you a puppy to cheer you up?

    :mad::mad::mad:

    They could have got you a box of chocs and some flowers.

    That poor pup's life and welfare is entirely in your hands.

    Did you not even consider vet bills, dietary needs, emergency funds etc?

    That poor animal is a living creature - not a thing to be used for your personal gratification. It's not like trying out a pair of shoes and then rejecting them because they don't fit.

    Do the dog a favour and get him to a family that will care for him for the whole of his life AND do the world a favour and never consider getting a pet again.

    NOT EVEN A GOLDFISH.

    :mad::mad::mad:
    Who says that OP won;t care for this dog for life?? Who gives you the right to decide OP shouldn't have a pet or have relatives buy said pet for them?
    And OP never said ANYTHING about rejecting the dog! :mad::mad::mad:

    POOR LITTLE BOY, *YES, FOR NOW, COMING TO US JUST AS HE HAS* BUT BY GOSH, I'M SO GOING TO PROVE *ALOT* OF FOLK WRONG!!!

    ***WATCH THIS SPACE ALL YOU THAT ****THREW **** AT ME FOR DOING WHAT I DID AND THEN CONSIDERING SURRENDING HIM BACK TO AN AWFUL PLACE, isn't going to happen, **OUR** boy will lead a good life, WITH US, DESPITE WHAT*YOU ALL* BELIEVE!!!

    What happens if the OR refuses to accept "pet costs" in your budget?

    That just shows what kind of a breeder she was. It costs £16 to register a puppy with the Kennel Club. In it for money and nothing else.

    I adopted a pup from a rescue last year, he came with horrific diarrhoea. The rescue thought it was due to stress, so let me adopt him thinking an experienced home could settle him down, rather than going into kennels and being even more unwell. Turns out he had coccidia, which is usually caused by dirty living conditions and drinking contaminated water. The breeder who abandoned my pup was eventually traced, most of the litter was suffering, and it cost me over £200 to get him well again, within the first 2 weeks of having him, medication for 6 weeks. He's still not right now, he has so many problems with food and the most sensitive stomach I have ever known in a dog.

    If your pup isn't well still, please take him to the vet to check for coccidia. It can kill if not treated sooner rather than later.

    I hope you can get some contact with the breeder, but sadly, in cases like this, the breeder usually disappears, if she even was the original breeder of the pup to begin with. Sounds like you have learnt the hard way and I really hope this poor pup can have a long healthy life. Good luck.
    I just enter and forget...hoping to win something! :)

    And later posts she is saying that DOG IS GOING NOWHERE. So IMO yes what OP done was dumb in not going to visit with breeder, But that is past the mark now, it's the future of the pup that's important. OP has been saying she is getting her pup proper vet care etc.. so how can you say she (or he) should never have pets?? How do you know they weren't thinking of getting a dog for a long time?. And people are judging OP's financials which has nothing to do with this as relatives bought pup and maybe they bought the insurance, it isn't our business what they paid. All that matters is that the pup is looked after and cared for and OP has stated this is their intentions.

    So - in my opinion - anyone that is prepared to take a sick animal back for a refund (especially given that it is likely to be a puppy farm) really shouldn't have animals.

    Have you actually read what the OP has posted? They want to know where they stand re. rejecting the puppy. It's there in black and white in their own words.
  • yes yes I skimmed first post I know, but the later posts she is keeping pup and getting vet care for the pup. As I read also she had a dog before and it died so they obviously have experience of looking after dogs.

    Getting a puppy on impulse, when about to go bankrupt, just to cheer the family up is reckless.

    The OP is just changing her tune now because we have all given our views.
