Enjoy Marrakech & your birthday MP :bdaycake:
Sounds brilliant sazaccount! Was there a country you preferred or did you take something away from each?
I've still got 10 weeks to go & am busily shopping for the right knee length short, & have become obsessed with cuffed leg trousers, & strange patterned ones.0 -
Ha ha I should have been in Egypt as I type this. Thanks to Monarchs refund policy I couldn't find anywhere else at short notice so will be going for a long weekend in Whitby this month instead :j
San Francisco and west coast road trip coming up later in the year though:beer:0 -
Hellllooooo Helllloooooo Travellers!
I'm back off a FABULOUS mini break with my girlfriend and we had such a blast. We laughed sooooo much. The souks, OMG, where do I even begin?!?!?!?
Walking around I'd say to my friend, "Oh Louise, remind me to bring back Spi" before I could even finish my sentence we would here "Spices, Spices here Madame/Cheaper than Asda/Tesco" in the end we didn't dare say anything out loud, but sheesh they have Vulcan hearing, even when we whispered they could hear! So we came up with a safe word "teapot", but first we had to test it out, so we walked around saying "teapot" softly, then a bit louder etc. after about the 5th teapot we thought we were safe, until we walked past the teapot seller, hahahahaha!!!!
We learnt the word "no" in Arabic, that didn't go down too well with one guy who screamed abuse at us when we told him no (we'd just hoped out of our taxi and were walking to the spa, he heard us saying where we were going, took it upon himself to show us, even though it is clearly sign posted!)!
We bought way to much rubbish, I'm now a proud owner of a pouff that I no longer want. We managed to do a day tour up Atlas Mountain which was stunningly beautiful, ate lunch at 14000 meters above sea level (I think?) with views to die for. We managed to make a few stops on our way up, going through the villages, talking to some locals, and even stopped off at the local market.
Each day we managed a few hours pool time and sun bathing and the locals thought we were CRAZY as it was only mid 20's! Lots of cocktails, lots of great Moroccan food, I can't wait to one day go back!
11 Days until Miami/Cruise!0 -

Saza that sounds like one hell of an adventure. Where are you now? After Oz where are you heading off to next?0 -
MP. It's metres not meters! 14,000 of the former would have seen you sitting far above any mountain summit on earth.:) But wherever you were I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Only 7 weeks before we've got a month in Nicaragua.0 -

Thank you for correcting me PP:eek::rotfl:0 -
Glad you enjoyed it MP. Oh how I love the bartering!
Still got 8 weeks left until Nepal.
Can't believe you're going again before me Pete. I seem to be following you around so I could well be going there next. The closest I've been to Nica is Costa Rica which was absolutely stunning.0 -
I've booked my flight to Calcutta/Kolkata for November so we have a few months to decide what to do once we get there. We will definitely go to Darjeeling and there's also the possibility of going into Sikkim by helicopter (I've long since fancied a helicopter ride).
There's also the tiger reserve at Sunderban (although seeing a tiger is far from guaranteed) and the outside chance of seeing a game of cricket at Eden Gardens as South Africa are due to tour the country whilst I'm there.
I have to say that I'm surprised that Emirates were the cheapest flight option. I've never flown with them but I've heard that they're pretty good. Santander have Emirates as one of their offers at the moment so we get 5% back on the booking which makes it just under £450 each. I've just chosen our seats (at no cost) which makes it seem closer to actually happening.
Edit: I've just checked and England appear to be the visitors in November rather than South Africa. It'll be interesting to see where they play.0 -
Ballard that sounds amazing! Im sure you've mentioned up thread, but what is your itinerary?
We've flown Emirates and they are currently my preferred airline. BA charges you to select your seats, I think they tried to charge me £97 per person! I'm hoping to try out Qatar airways one day. We flew AA (BA flight, operated by AA). Their planes are ancient just like their crew LOL! But everything worked fine and I was comfy and food was good.
We are in Miami, arrived Thursday. I've taken my boys sight seeing and last night I was craving seafood, so headed out to Bayside and the seafood was disgusting! The american's and their HUGE portions, just crazy! Dinner on Friday night was Devine, we dined at Yardbird and I can highly recommend. Tomorrow off on our cruise for 12 nights.
HAPPY EASTER!0
