July 2015 - queen Mary 2 Southampton to NYC, 5 nights in NYC and queen Mary 2 home to Southampton. Only booked 2 days ago - can't wait to go!!!!0

Already had a January week in Llandudno and North Wales, with Shearings;
A couple of weeks in February at Lara Beach, Turkey, at the wacky and very good WOW Kremlin Palace. With Thomas Cook...
And just got back from 4 weeks on the Andaman Coast of Thailand. Flight only on the excellent Thomson Dreamliner. Booked accommodation x 5 either on Booking.com or direct.
Nothing else booked, but we still have 3 monthe left on our Turkey visa, so the beautiful Dodrum Peninsula is looking promising.
Apart from that, we don't do summer holidays, as that's for families. Hopefully plenty of sun at home, and plenty of cricket to watch.:beer:0 -
DH and I are off for a 4 day trip to Marrakech in 7 weeks and the whole family is going to the Dominican Republic for 2 weeks in 10 weeks. We are hoping to get a week either in Egypt or the Canaries at the NY but the flights are so expensive at the moment so will see if other flights are put on later in the year. I feel your pain I live for my holidays. I love the planning ,the points haul for VFF or Avios points for flights, buying the rough guide in fact the whole shebang!"Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

We are off to the East Coast of America for a planes, trains and automobiles trip. Can't wait, June 15th can't come quick enough. We booked it last May, so seems to have waited soooo long for it. This trip is completely DIY, 3 internal flights, train journeys, 2 x car hires and 7 different hotel stays.
Then just booked to go to Obergurgl in Austria in Feb 16 for a ski trip with 13 friends. We went to the same resort this year and loved it so much we're going again. Different kettle of fish, all booked with specialist Ski company, everything included (except lift passes) in a catered chalet, free wine with 4 course dinner, the works!0 -
Married a teacher, she retired this Easter, so I have waited 34 years.
I've wait 25 years, I'm almost free!

4 nights in Half Term, why so short?
Neil
10 Day pass, you must really love it, but 10 days of sun is a bonus!
Patty
I look forward to my retirement, but I sill have over 30 years to go!:(

I have to agree, we should not live to work, but work to live, BUT I have to work now because I spend a fortune on my holidays:(

OMG, that sounds like a nightmare, YIKES! I hope you didn't loose too much money? You deserve a holiday! Couldn't you go for 2 weeks to Mexico, all that way for 1 week?
Arthur
WHAT?!?!?! 25 years of no holiday, I'm surprised you've lived to tell the tale! You are justified in 10 holidays in 31 months, am I right in thinking that you went away every 12 weeks?
Dave
The Queen Mary is that a Cunard ship? I'd love to hear all about it when you return. I'm fascinated to know if everything is as posh as it looks? How long is your cruise and how many sea days do you have?
Pompey
You've had way to many holidays as it is!?!?!?!:cool:
Russ
Yes, that's exactly what I love too! The hours and hours of research, it's like a high, especially when everything goes to plan! I think that's what I'm missing, the whole planning/researching process.
Michele
I'm doing that next Aug, can't wait! Where are you going in the East Coast? I still can't make myself go on cold holidays, i.e. go skiing etc. so I really don't know how I'm going to go see Antarctica??????
I'm tempted to go away by myself (first solo trip) in September, I might go to Italy for a few days.0 -
Am off to Oslo for a city break on May 1st then Berlin for another one in June. Also 6 days in Bologna in September.0

Four nights as that's how the 'sun' holidays work. By Sun I mean the newspaper not the big object in the sky lol
It's either Fri - Mon to Mon-Fri, both cost the same £9:50 each so we book the Mon to Fri one.
May half term to Wales is also a Sun.holiday with a night in a Travelodge on the Sunday. Dawlish is also a Sun holiday.
Not sure on other two sun holidays but the dawlish one is costing us £100 ish, compared to £370 if booked direct with site. So massive savings. Means I can have several little holidays at that price, as other will work out a similar price once you include the service charge and.entertainment passes.0 -

ha ha , well, we had no choice about the 25 years holiday free.......bringing up the kids, 8 years out of that I was on the sick due to a serious R.T.A., still had to pay the bills...we struggled......
as for the every 12 weeks well it would average out like that apart from the first 2 and the last 2.....the first holiday after 25 years was enjoyed so much, we went back there 5 weeks after, and the last 2 holidays have been 4 weeks apart......Corduroy pillows are making headlines! Back home in London now after 27years wait! Duvet know it's Christmas, not original, it's a cover.0 -
Next 12 months for us (me, DH, DD12,DS10) as follows:
1. Long weekend at Center Parcs Woburn
2. Two weeks in France, travelling by ferry and car - one week in a gite in Maritime Charente followed by another week in the Loire. Never done this with the kids before!
3. Just over 2 weeks in South Africa, mainly self driving through Kruger, then driving via an overnight stop in Swaziland to a beach lodge in northern KwaZulu Natal where we should be arrive soon enough to see turtles coming up the beach to lay their eggs.
4. Just booked flights for a week in Dubai -accommodation still to be sorted!0 -

Masterpoo, we are going to New Yrk for 4 nights, Washington 1 night, Buffalo/Niagara 1 night, Boston 1 night, White Mountains 2 nights, Bar harbor 2 nights, Boothbay Harbor1 night, then back to NY for 1 night. Some are really just a tasters like Boston and Washignton, but we are more looking forward to the Mountains and the Maine Coast.
As for skiing, yes it gets bl**dy cold, but the adrenaline kicks in and I just love it!0
