Man are you planning on arriving and just going with the flow? Sounds like fun!
Will be a change to arrive in daylight - first time we rocked up on Paros around 11pm and were amazed (and relieved!) at the number of people at the dock offering rooms. Only time we booked the first few nights was a long trip down to Amorgos arriving around 02:30.
Unfortunately the best (IMHO) guide "Greek Island Hopping" by Frewin Poffley is not in print this year due to Thomas Cook Publishing closing - hopefully will turn up as an e-book soonish. You don't really need a "this year" one anyway (my latest is 2012), ferry routes and schedules are easily available online.0 -
Little and Often sound like a great motto......I need to take a leaf out of your book!
Where in the UK are you going?
We did a night in Liverpool, we've got a night in Cardiff followed by 4 nights in southwest Wales, five days in Devon, Dawlish. We've got 3 nights in New Forest, and 2? nights in Canterbury. And we'll be away for four nights Oct half term nothing booked yet, will be a Sun holiday booked in July.
Will also go and see relatives in great yarmouth no idea how long probably a couple of nights.
We've also done three nights in Copenhagen.0 -
I also dream of a day where I no longer have to take holidays during school holidays, 4 more years and I can officially join the "Term Time Holidays Allowed Club" I can't bloody wait!:beer:
Don't forget they have to stay in education until they are 18 now, were also on the final countdown. Youngest is 16 and yr 11, so two years of college and we'll be free too!!!!!0 -
Off to Disney in 5 days. 2 weeks down there. 10 day park pass. Me, the wife, 3 year old and 2 year old. Mother in law coming for the last 4 days0

Not long to go Peaceful. How much driving is involved in the July road trip?Your August Bank holiday, sounds like fun.....NOT!:eek:0

We had last Christmas in Egypt, few days in Cornwall in March and just returned from a short break in South Wales.
Egypt again in June then a tour of Italy in August.
That's all that is booked for now but I am sure there will be more. Being retired has its advantages!0 -
Realised there is more to life than just working. Determined this year to get away more.
Off to Egypt on Thursday. Back in the UK for May Bank Holiday weekend, then off for a few days in Porto.0 -
A few days in Cornwall in July to celebrate a close friend's big birthday.
A mid week jaunt up to staffs in sept/Oct at around the time of grandsons 1st, other grandsons 3rd, and daughters' 21st and 16th birthdays- Alton towers trip.
The thing I'm really looking forward to is next month. I've been with my partner for several years, but we've never really spent any time on our own. He was at sea up until last year for months at a time- and has travelled extensively so trying to find somewhere new to go was an issue.
This time last year, we were all set for the trip of a lifetime- Kenyan safari, and of course it all then went horribly wrong, and the trip was cancelled. I'd planned it to the nth degree, and was gutted.
Next month however, the two of us are off for a week AI on the carribean coast of Mexico.Only dead fish go with the flow...0 -

Well Neil, I did warn you
Disney is not a 'once only' kind of trip, especially with little ones:rotfl:

well, I can relate to the O.P. we have just came back from Tenerife last night, and after having 10 holidays abroad in the last 31 months, I have withdrawal symptoms because our next holiday is not until Sept 7th, 139 days to go.......that seems way too long to wait.....but before our first holiday 31 months ago, there was a 25 year gap of having no holidays at all(kids and mortgage stuff)Corduroy pillows are making headlines! Back home in London now after 27years wait! Duvet know it's Christmas, not original, it's a cover.0
