:beer: to the child free nights!
Favourite city in Europe is Rome. I'm tempted to drag my sons there for 4/5 days next year! What's on your wish list for Europe?
Are the 20 days in USA/Mexico with your children? Sounds like fun, and the weather will be lovely!
Yes that's with the children, went to Mexico last year and it was fabulous, the value for money in school holidays compared to Europe is amazing.
I'm thinking possibly a Greek island next summer, nice apartment on a small complex with plenty of local tavernas near by. It's been 12 years since I was last in Greece so will be nice to go back. Alternatively Sardinia is very appealing, but accommodation expensive.0 -
Ohhh holidays - it seems ages since I had one (It was actually last September). I'm off to Greece island hopping in August/September with my daughter and boyfriend, who live out there. It's all just about planned.... Athens (Glyfada), Naxos, Amorgos and Santorini, then back to Athens. I can't wait.
I haven't skied for three years so might take the plunge and go again next year but too early to book just now.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -
BC is that British Columbia? When I think of Canada I always think cold! It has never appealed to me, I don't know why, but I'd love to possibly one day go over just to see. Which season are you planning join, the weather puts me off? I prefer warm/hot holidays!
Brecon Beacons be beautiful at that time of the year.
I love Scotland, I've done a couple city breaks and it's been FAB. One December I did Edinburgh & Glasgow, stayed in a castle, it was magical! We did a lot of driving, driving up to St Andrews for the day, then Glasgow for the day and Edinburgh for the day.
I've never done a road trip in the direction of Wales, might look at doing that one day.
I worked at a summer camp (Toronto side though) and it was lovely and warm all summer. Still got some Canadian friends and it looks like it can be bad up to April time as one said not long back they couldn't believe it was April and snowing:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one:beer::beer::beer:

Yes it is British Columbia. The BC climate varies from temparate rain forest on the west coast to a desert in the Okanagan Valley and high alpine lakes and meadows. Vancouver has a climate very similar to the UK (can be very wet too!) And Victoria on Vancouver Island has some of the earliest cherry blossoms around. We went late may through to June 16th last year, starting in Vancouver and flying home from Calgary, seeing daffodils just starting to bloom in june at Lake Louise was strange to us! And the lake was still mostly frozen. We are going to go back later in the year next time!
Canada is a vast country and it's climates vary greatly, It's not always cold though - unless you plan to go to Manitoba in January!! Although having said that my dream is a Polar Bear Safari out of Churchill, Manitoba and I would love to head north of the Arctic Circle!:D0 -

So a full day excursion, you'll just want to relax after that. ENJOY and safe travels.

I can't believe you're contemplating dropping a bag eeeeekkkkkkk! What an adventure though, have a FAB time!
With Ryanair if you stick to their rules and not deviate you should be fine. It's usually the people who don't who end up greeting stressed. I've used them to fly from Birmingham to Dublin a couple of times and they were fine for the 45 min journey!

I did not know that about Mexico being VFM over the school holidays. Are you returning to the same hotel or are you trying out a different hotel? Which hotel will you be staying at?

SWOOOOOON, I'm dying to go to Santorini, I've never been. Are you staying in Hotels or SC or a Mixture? What mode of transportation will you be using to island hop?

I think when I do eventually venture to Canada I will try go during their Summer, I don't think I would cope with their winter!
A Polar Bear Safari, now you have piqued my interest, WOW! And YES YES YES! That I would not mind doing.
I was reading a trip report on Flyertalk (I think) and they started off in Brazil/Somewhere in South America and did an 18/20 cruise on an old battered [STRIKE]can[/STRIKE] ship, not one of those large cruise ships and the pix were magical. I'm going to try look for the link so you can see. It was VERY expensive though, but I do think it's one of those trips that is worth doing at least once in a lifetime!0 -

Spent a month cruising in the Caribbean earlier this year. We are going to <London for the weekend in 2 weeks to see Paul McCartney. Then in June we are cruising for 2 weeks up to the North Cape for the summer solstice. We have booked a cottage in Yorkshire for Christmas week and I'm looking seriously at a month cruising Soth America, the Falklands ending up in Los Angeles next March. Yes, we absolutely love cruising and Yes we are both retired now and we absolutely LOVE it. There has to some advantages to getting old and this is it :j0

We're staying at the Beloved Hotel. It's not cheap by any means, but it's all inclusive with premium spirits (grey goose etc), room service, mini bar, no buffet, fillet steak and lobster, 1000sq ft rooms with jacuzzi and huge bathrooms and on the beach. For the four of us I negotiated £200 per night during school holidays. if anyone can find anything of a similar quality for the same price in Europe please let me know.0

I love the Beloved! £200 AI per night for 4 people in August, I think that's a very good deal! I've saved the hotel on TA so I can remember it! 15 days in paradise. If you do come back and review it on TA, please let me know so I can read your review.
Have you planned any excursions? I'd like to know if they provide any motorised watersports?0 -

The perks of retirement, I cannot bloody wait, but I've got a good 30+ years to go, so in the meantime, I will look forward to taking holidays outside of normal school holidays in 4 years time:beer::beer::beer::beer:
Which cruise liner? How many ports did you go to over the 20 day cruise? How were the sea days? I too love cruising! Your planned trips sound FANTASTIC!
I really prefer cruising for a multi destination holiday option, as your transport is your accommodation and almost every morning you're in a new country/port, it really is the way forward for multi destination holidays!0
