Not got around to booking yet but planning another road trip across BC and Alberta hopefully spending some time on Vancouver island, for 2016. Off to Wales on a Sun Holiday in June will tour South Wales and the Brecon Beacons, looking forward to that too. Hopefully we can fit in a week in Scotland, again booking accomodation through The Sun, but for Scotland we will fly up and hire a car, as i'm on the south coast it saves me 2 days of driving and leaves more time to enjoy the destination, had enough of driving up and down the M6 with my last job!!

BC is that British Columbia? When I think of Canada I always think cold! It has never appealed to me, I don't know why, but I'd love to possibly one day go over just to see. Which season are you planning join, the weather puts me off? I prefer warm/hot holidays!

Brecon Beacons be beautiful at that time of the year.

I love Scotland, I've done a couple city breaks and it's been FAB. One December I did Edinburgh & Glasgow, stayed in a castle, it was magical! We did a lot of driving, driving up to St Andrews for the day, then Glasgow for the day and Edinburgh for the day.

I've never done a road trip in the direction of Wales, might look at doing that one day.

Had the best year ever for holidays:
Went to Prague in Jan (a prize I won) - beautiful.
Going to Canada in 2 weeks time: Niagara, Toronto & Ottawa & visiting long lost family. Been before but always stunning.
Torremolinos in July: something for the kids with maybe a boat trip across to Africa for the day.
Might sneak in a cheeky New Forest break in Oct half term.
Then the biggie I've been waiting for: Brisbane in January. Visiting hubby's sister whose been there for 11 years and developed a fear of flying so can't come home! (They sailed there!)

Can't believe I'm doing all that. Mainly thanks to a work Sharesave scheme that matured in Feb.

5 nights New York 15 in Mexico (playa Mujeres) this july/August. Thanks to avios half in first half in club world outbound, back in club.
3 child free nights in Mallorca in early October.
Need to find somewhere European for next year's avios trip....

:beer: to the child free nights!

Favourite city in Europe is Rome. I'm tempted to drag my sons there for 4/5 days next year! What's on your wish list for Europe?

Are the 20 days in USA/Mexico with your children? Sounds like fun, and the weather will be lovely!

Plus if you ever have too many clothes wear them on the plane (in America ive got a photo of me wearing I think it was 7 pairs of shorts, few coats around my waist plus a few other bits. Saved paying for them to go in the hold

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: DEAD! But an excellent idea!

2015 is an Amazing year for you, to that, here's hoping 2016 is just the same!

Shockingly I'd never heard of Torremolinos before, I had to google as I was intrigued about the ".....day trip to Africa" WOW!!! AMAZING!!!!! How long does the ferry take?

Will you only be visiting Brisbane, any other places on your itinerary?

You've never heard of Torremolinos? Lucky you. It's the Costa Del Sol's answer to Benidorm. It's fine if you want cheap lager and all day breakfasts but I wouldn't be putting it on your bucket list.

It's dead simple. Rolling is your friend. Folding takes more room. All light clothing. Flip flops + walking shoes only. 7 ish tops. 1 warm item like a cardi. 5 pairs of trousers/skirts/dresses. Pants and bras. PJ shortees. 2 swimming costumes. Many many places to get clothes washed for pennies. All fits with room to spare. I got loads of stationary in Cambodia as it's so cheap and it's great for prizes in my classroom, and could fit it all in as well as the new boots I had custom made in Phnom Penh at Beautiful Shoes.

Was so glad we packed this way when we got stuck in transit in Bahrain - we were in the hotel quite happily going swimming while waiting for the plane out, sunbathing, and changing into fresh clothes. Felt so sorry for people who were trying to sunbathe in jeans and long sleeve tops, trying to make the best of it.

Where did you buy your stationery in Cambodia? I normally buy quite a bit in Bangkok (there is a branch of Loft but it's not cheap!)

Thanks MasterPoo! Seeing it in black & white here gets me even more excited to be going! The excursion to Tangiers will take us all day as we get a coach from Torremolinos down to Gibraltar and we go from there. Don't know the exact timings but we arrive back at hotel quite late same day.

Doshwasher - actually Torremolinos has cleaned up its act over the last few years. It's clean, friendly, nice restaurants, very safe, child friendly family oriented. Went there last year, saw no trouble, beautiful old town squares, loads to do. No tackiness or stupid drunk Brits. That's why we're going back :)

Husband wants to go to Sydney for a couple of days perhaps & I'd like to visit Southbank, Gold Coast, Steve Irwin's zoo, rainforest trek...um that's all for now!

Reply to MasterPoo - sorry for the delay, in replying.

So you will leave your 2 medium bags before flying on Rynair? Are there 3 of your travelling? Reason I ask is that they have always been strict about the number of hand luggage you are allowed, and they will charge you extra for that third bag.

There are three of us going, DH, DS and me. The tentative plan is to go from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon by Metro, then leave our suitcases in the left luggage at Gare de Lyon overnight, just taking our cabin cases to the hotel. Ditto, when we arrive in Barcelona Sants station, we'll leave the suitcases in the left luggage there and just take our cabin bags to the apartment.
We got a lot of advice from 'The man in seat sixty-one' website. The ideas here about packing are great and I'm going to try and drop at least a cabin bag, if not a full suitcase.

(We'll pick up the suitcases at Sants when we catch the train to Salou, so we're taking everything to Salou.)
