We have some avios/ airmiles which we were originally going to be putting towards long haul flights, but after some research, discovered they are not a good use of them for many reasons.
Hadn't realised till recently that you could use on Eurostar, so that opens up all possibilities for an early break feb or easter next year:)0 -

Not a good use either:cool: See headforpoints review
Best use is Domestic flights in USA\ South America\Russia
You can get to Easter Island from Santiago on Avios.
I've just used Avios to fly internally in South America-saved me a fortune.0 -

Avios are very poor value for long haul flights if you are booking economy. By far the best use of them is to book Traveller Plus when there is a sale on and then use the points to upgrade to Club.0 -

Yes, the Dubai trip I mentioned earlier as being in the next 12 months is my first booking for 2016.
Now looking for summer 2016...... probably Mediterranean
And October 2016..... probably Egypt
And March 2017..... probably New York and Caribbean
Holidays keep me going......0 -
2 nights in Oxford in May
2 1/2 weeks in Malaysia in July - Kuala Lumpur, Cameron Highlands, Penang & Langkawi. (Just got to get back around to booking the accommodation in Langkawi.)
3 nights in Amsterdam in August
3 nights in Edinburgh in August for the Tattoo and the Fringe . (DH has always wanted to go to the Fringe so, just decided this year to do it!)
Will probably do a couple of nights in London in October as have been given tickets as a gift for a tour of Wembley Stadium.
Hopefully, we will also have our annual night away in York between Christmas and the New Year. (I'm just waiting for Travelodge to drop their prices! The cheapest we have ever got this for was £9.50!)
You're on roll. Where in Oxford? Last time I visited Oxford I stayed at The Crazy Bear over 10 years ago.

Checked out both those hotels, I'd go for Liberty Hotels Lykia, looks lovely! Maybe sign up to Hotel newsletter and pray they have an offer?

Will you be purchasing flights in the sale if you are flying BA?
I promised myself last Christmas that I would NOT be in front of a stove or doing any cooking, hence why I'm away Christmas and NY. (off to South Africa) Christmas in Cape Town and New Years in the Bush on Safari!

I love cruising! I've yet to do a Med Cruise, one day I'll do it! Which cruise liner are you going with? Which ports will you be hitting?
