I'm off to google Gulluk Turkey! Which villa company do you use? Sounds lovely.

Gulluk is a small fishing village approx 10km from Bodrum airport. It is not a tourist trap town so you get to see the real secret. This will be my fifth year.

    I can recommend -Flipflops Apartments

My favourite spot for a cup of coffee and to watch the fishermen working-

    It's not a busy place....

Gosh, travel really gets everyone excited, especially me!

I took early retirement last year, best decision ever, and I could not stop going away.. South of France (Nice and surrounds, gorgeous), Granada and Cordoba in Spain, Lake Garda, Verona and Venice. The freedom to be able to go anytime, and especially outside term time is wonderful.

Well what did I work for so many many years for!!

I did all the long hauls when I was younger, Far East, China, Egypt, US etc., so now it is time to discover Europe. Off the beaten track.

In May I am going to take a flight to Naples, then a train to Piano Sorrento where there is a train that takes me to Herculaneum and Pompeii, and into Sorrento itself. I cannot wait. And for the first time, I AM DOING THIS ON MY OWN!! Yikes... it is something I said I would do after retirement. So this is it. No one I know likes old ruins (like myself lol), so I am really looking forward to seeing all the Roman stuff. But am a bit nervous, but what the heck.

I usually go at the last minute (OH retired too), but this time, I am carefully planning ahead, as I am going on my own.

    Am I mad?

I'm still having Holiday Withdrawal Symptoms from June 2013 when I was at Florida, lol.

We did do Disneyland Paris in October last year.

However time for a change this year, but it's going to be a late deal whereever to be honest.

Start our holiday on 25th July, so a week or so on the sun is on the cards unless finances dictate otherwise.

Do have a little extended weekend getaway at the end of May for our 10th Anniversary, in Dumfries in a nice lodge (hot tub :) ).

Happy to hear you will hopefully be off soon! Any ideas where?

Can I apologise for making you share your clearly well kept secret. Im so very sorry.....and WOW, that looks beautiful, I've added this to my bucket list.
holidaysforme Has anyone booked anything for next year yet?

So I'm in a bit of dilemma regarding next years flights, they seem ridiculously cheap at present, I'm planning on flying BA from Dublin to Miami and Boston next year, do I buy now or hold out until Sale in December/Jan?

2 nights in Oxford in May

2 1/2 weeks in Malaysia in July - Kuala Lumpur, Cameron Highlands, Penang & Langkawi. (Just got to get back around to booking the accommodation in Langkawi.)

3 nights in Amsterdam in August

3 nights in Edinburgh in August for the Tattoo and the Fringe . (DH has always wanted to go to the Fringe so, just decided this year to do it!)

Will probably do a couple of nights in London in October as have been given tickets as a gift for a tour of Wembley Stadium.

Hopefully, we will also have our annual night away in York between Christmas and the New Year. (I'm just waiting for Travelodge to drop their prices! The cheapest we have ever got this for was £9.50!)

Tbh, no, I have one or two places I've saw, but at this stage, too pricey, 1 being way too pricey at the moment.

And being on this site, you can guess I'm trying to manage my money, lol. :D

Although Tunisia been in the news, I quite fancy the Sahara Beach Resort, however saw a lovely place in Olu Deniz, Liberty Hotels Lykia, it's to die for, the setting is stunning. But tbh, it looks way out of our price range, unless a super super deal comes along.

But honestly not fussed, anywhere which will cater for our little one (she's 9) will do, she's being saying Greece, but we've been there a few times, I'll not be fussed too much if it is, but quite fancy somewhere different. The wife loves Cyprus, but that's usually always on the pricey side.

Trying to budget for 2 holidays in the next 2 years, so don't want to mess with that, withinin our budget we don't have to increase our debt.

I have been very tempted, but haven't booked anything. Almost booked flights to the U.S. for next Feb, but we have decided that we want to go away Christmas/new year 2016
and it's going to be a big holiday long haul, to celebrate some significant birthdays.
Most of our funds are going to be going towards that, so I suspect we will have to scale down our usual amount of breaks throughout the year, although we will still go away.
