Hope you don't mind me joining in!

We received an offer on Monday - £122,500 which we rejected.

They came back with £125,000 on Tuesday, which we rejected again.

I was worried they weren't going to offer again, but our solicitor just informed us that they are away on business so haven't been in touch.

WHO DOES THAT MID HOUSE BUYING!! So stressful!! :(

Fingers crossed we get a few more viewings on Sunday and just one person loves it

Hi! Can I join in please:) Our house went on Rightmove yesterday and we have our first viewing today!! The EA is showing them round as we are going away for the weekend, much easier as we have dogs, so won't have to worry about disappearing while they are here!
We still haven't found anywhere we want to move to and have told the EA that if we can't find anywhere we won't be moving, they seemed fine with that .
Is anyone else in the same position as us? I don't want to be forced into just buying something that I will regret later( reason we are selling now :()

Hopefully the Estate Agent's mortgage advisor won't become an impediment by providing a poor service.

Our ea is a small out of town agent, nothing to do with country wide so I have no fear with that one! Nor do they 'force' viewers onto them as far as I can tell like some of the larger EA agents.

Our Sat viewing has now turned to a Sun viewing. Makes life a bit easier given that I am working tomorrow and the wife is home with the 2 kids.

As for 'not moving if we can't find somewhere', that's standard isn't it!? We have seen a few places but the budget we have and our 'requirements' (to buy a forever family house and not move again) limits our search criteria somewhat, and they do go quite quick. I don't think it will be too much of a problem though as new houses are coming on the market all the time.

The only thing that could happen once you have an offer on the table, your buyers could get fed up of waiting and look elsewhere if it does take too long so doing plenty of reasearch early on imho is key, get some early viewing in yourself to aquaint yourself with looking around, looking at what you may like. We started with show homes with new builds, then moved onto vacant houses, just to get an idea of room sizes so we can compare what we see. We have done some viewings of lived in houses. Saying that, if you do find the house that you want before you sell it can be a disappointment when it sells bore you are ready, that's happened a few times to us but there always seems to be something else around the corner.

Anybody have any progress this weekend?

After 5hrs of cleaning and some de-cluttering, we had our 2 viewers (one first, one second, both FTB's).

First went well, made right noises (although, been through that before...), and our 2nd viewers deflated us a little. As we had our kids to deal with, and since they already had the sales speech from our EA last weekend, we thought we would leave them to it and allowed them to look around the house by themselves, hoping they would open more or less every door, turn on taps, checks switches..... Nope, it was like a first viewing again, other than a couple of 'advanced' questions such as FENSA cert's for the rear door and when the windows were last replaced. Could not read them, I think they are still interested, but I don't know, very good poker faces! Saying that, looking back to when we were FTB'ers, I think our 'checks' were minimal and mostly looking with eyes rather than playing with hands. Will see what happens tomorrow, fingers crossed though our 1st turns into another 2nd, and/or our 2nd turns into an offer!

Yep I'm in the same boat, will only sell when I find the next house that is right for us. Anyone wanting to buy our place will be told that. If we lose a buyer because they can't wait then so be it.

Two viewings today both second viewings, first lot wanted to know if we'd be leaving our sofas 😱, not sure if they are interested or not. The second viewing is a lovely guy but he has a couple of houses to sell so we're not sure if he's able to proceed.
  • Had feedback from our second 2nd viewer this morning. He still really loves it but he can't convince his girlfriend unfortunately so they won't be taking it any further (from the sounds of it she's after having everything - big garden, nice view, lovely nothing-to-do-on-the-house, quiet and safe area, all for under £140k!)

Had 3 viewings on Friday and Saturday - all of them made the right noises and said it was lovely and seemed impressed but we're now nearly at lunchtime on Monday and not heard a peep from any of them. EA said they've left a few messages chasing for feedback.

So back to twiddling thumbs waiting for the phone to ring again :(
