  • Lots to do today !
Finally getting around to having the brakes fitted on my car, then need to check oil, water etc, should change wiper blades and air filter too but I forgot to order them
Have to buy myself a pair of wellies and raincoat for next weeks camping trip, the weather forecast is rain, blooming typical !
Ds1 has a Dr appt today, poor boy is getting fed up of being there lately, and need to collect dh prescription
Then I need to sort the mountains of clothes to pack, and finish the ironing
Also need to finish off a sewing job, I've made some pocket organisers for dd to keep her books and pens in when we're in the tent, they're made from old scraps of fabric and jeans that dd grew out of so all free :D
I need to decide what books I'm taking away with me, too many to choose
take dd to library to collect her books,
and then finish my new painting which I haven't done as much as I should have, ooops :)

Think I will need a large glass of wine tonight !

  • I'm back :D

Thanks DebtFree :) We had a really lovely time, luckily it only rained in the evenings and mornings so we had dry days :)
we went sightseeing everyday, the children loved playing in the river and I did lots of sketching, we were all absolutely shattered when we got home and now have holiday blues :(

Did a big huge food shop today and then had a marathon cooking afternoon, we now have lots of meals waiting to go into the freezer, which is a really handy thing to do during school holidays as its always a nightmare to cook after our days out and I usually end up spending on rubbish because everyone is hungry  dd is going to make lots of cakes and goodys tomorrow :)

Bank and bills are looking good even after a week of spending, no debt payments made yet but everything's as it should be and I put a teeny bit into savings

Going to spend a fortune on electric though, lots of camping things to wash and dry

Lovely that you enjoyed it - a holiday to remember. Holiday blues suck as does the washing lol. Well done on staying on an even keel with the money too!

Just checked the bank and made a small debt payment, another two are due to go out before the end of the week, also put another little amount into the savings :)

Terrible weather here today, I was planning to take the children out somewhere this afternoon but they don't want to leave the house in the rain (that may mean we never actually get out ) :rotfl: Luckily for my summer budget they're not fussed on doing anything extravagant during the rest of the holidays, and the few things they do want to do are either free or minimal cost :D the joys of having older children ! Although I do have to plan a shopping day with dd to get her new school uniform, she's moving up to the comprehensive this year and needs quite a lot of new items, that could completely demolish my whole summer budget in one afternoon

Apart from needing to top up on the basics the food shop I did yesterday should last us two weeks, I'm very pleased with that :D

Not much else planned for the rest of this week apart from the usual sports clubs, I'm feeling very lazy since we got home and can't seem to get motivated to do anything, it's probably all the piles of washing and ironing that I keep tripping over !

Oh to live in a hot country with a never ending supply of money :D

  • Today's debt payment has gone out, but no big payments being made which I'm finding frustrating, but at least the house saving is under way :)

We've been looking at houses and now have a whole new dilemma :D
    We've always wanted to do a renovation, not the kind which has no roof and only two walls, well, I'd love to do that, but dh would never agree ! We're looking at the type that hasn't been updated for a while/ had an elderly occupier, that kind of thing. I grew up among house renovations and think nothing of knocking down a wall or two :D We think that now is probably the only time we are going to be able to consider doing this, a now or never kind of decision, and as I'm all about trying everything you want in life we've had a little look at what's on offer and gone through the end result scenarios ;
1 we sell and make a small profit
2 we can't sell and have to rent out
3 we fail miserably and have to live in it ourselves penniless and depressed (I don't do depressed but dh can :rotfl: )
So these are the discussions going on in my house at the moment, we just can't stick to one plan can we :rotfl: I'm going to have a chat with my dad at the weekend as he did all this when I was young so he will have the best advice for us.
on the other hand if we don't go down that road the houses I like around the corner from me are still for sale ! Best thing about living in a village, not loads of people wanting to snap up the houses you like :)

  • Been a really horrible few days here,
dh has two fr0zen sh0ulders, came home from work in agony end last week and got much worse over the weekend, been given m0rphine for the pain today which doesn't seem to do much, its awful because dh isn't one for taking painkillers and has always struggled on without but he's in too much pain to cope, he has a ster0id injecti0n booked for end week which I had to argue to bring forward or I would have had to go private as he can't cope any longer, just hope it works, he's off work now, he can't move his arms, walk anywhere unaided, hardly able to get tablets into his mouth, it's so upsetting seeing him like this :(
Trying my best to stay positive
