Has anyone actually managed to sign up for this alleged account upgrade yet? I can't find anything about signing up on online banking, the iPad Mobile Banking app hasn't been updated since 23 March and the newly updated iPhone app tab just tells me I haven't got any Blue Rewards. All a bit of a mystery.

There was an update for the Barclays mobile banking app on iPhone on 20th April, it's showing on mine as below:

Yes, mine shows that as well and when I select Blue Rewards it shows that I haven't earned any. They've had some kind of shopping scheme running for a while now and this option relates to that. It has absolutely nothing to do with upgrading existing Current Accounts to pay them £3 a month and get £7 back. I'm fed up of looking for it now so I'll just monitor this thread to see when it actually turns up!

I've signed up yesterday by clicking that Blue Rewards button on the mobile app (I upgraded the app first) and then agreeing to their terms and conditions. The Blue Reward wallet account was immediately displayed in the Barclays accounts list (in the app and also in online banking) with a £0 balance. It doesn't have a sort code and account number attached to it, but looks like that you can transfer money from/to it.

Have you updated your banking app to the latest version? When I signed up for the Blue Rewards account - by clicking on that Blue Rewards button - it asked me for consent to pay £3 per month and it gave me a link to the terms and conditions and the list of rewards....

It works for me now, too, and I've been able to sign up. The same as Datostar, until this afternoon following the rewards link in the iPhone app took me to "SmartSpend".

Oh dear, i've just tried to open an account because we didn't want to use our joint account with the mortgage attached etc.

During the ID check it asked if i had opened an account during a month and i chose one which was correct, but 2 were correct! Now they are ringing me within the next 5 days as it couldn't be opened online.

I guess i chose the one they didn't pick of the two.....

Dont know how yorkshireboy is going to cope with that question!!!! :rotfl:
