Signed up for it today. The lady from the bank told me it is being rolled out batch by batch . That is why not everyone seeing it at the same time. I am already with barclays so fulfill their criteria automatically.;)
I will be moving some of the DDs to the Santander account soon to benefit from their cashback. Blue rewards doesn't say what type of DDs we should have.

How long does it take to show up in your online a/c? I applied yesterday using the phone app, as the option wasn't yet available in my online a/c. The sign up option is now available today in my online a/c, but I have seen nothing to show that it's actually gone through or is being processed. Do they send a confirmatory email?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Oh dear, i've just tried to open an account because we didn't want to use our joint account with the mortgage attached etc.

During the ID check it asked if i had opened an account during a month and i chose one which was correct, but 2 were correct! Now they are ringing me within the next 5 days as it couldn't be opened online.

I guess i chose the one they didn't pick of the two.....

Dont know how yorkshireboy is going to cope with that question!!!! :rotfl:

I guess I've passed the human ID check as they have text me that a card and pin will be arriving in the post.

I've signed up yesterday by clicking that Blue Rewards button on the mobile app (I upgraded the app first) and then agreeing to their terms and conditions. The Blue Reward wallet account was immediately displayed in the Barclays accounts list (in the app and also in online banking) with a £0 balance. It doesn't have a sort code and account number attached to it, but looks like that you can transfer money from/to it.

Interestingly, there is a sort code and account number attached to a Blue Rewards account.

If you log in to your Barclays account via a web brower, then select Pay and transfer, then Make a payment you can make a payment from your Blue Rewards account and the sort code and account number are on display.

Oddly, it doesn't show up when you try to move money between accounts using the Transfer money between accounts option.

The sort code for my Blue Rewards account is 20-72-14.

This seems an odd way to do things. Other accounts, such as Santander 123, simply dumps cashback in to a bank account.

Regarding Direct Debits. Can I have 2 direct debit requests from my Tesco online savings. I have one request from Tesco to Lloyd's Club. Will Tesco online savings account allow me to set up a further direct debit with Barclay's. In effect having two separate direct debits serving the one Savings account.

Yes you can. I have a few on both my Tesco savings accounts.

Just having a look at the Blue Rewards program.

    1. Is it running on a calendar monthly basis, because if so and you join today, 25 April, you wouldn't have time to setup and pay the mandatory DD's, and therefore might possibly forfeit the first months £7 but yet suffer a charge of £3 for having the account type?

    2. If you join today, will they take the £3 payment now,and then after a month decide whether or not to give you the £7? Because if that is the case then at the start of the next month you will have paid 2 x £3 and effectively only received £1 back?

Of course I may be totally wrong on both counts!
