I logged into the app and can't see anywhere to "opt in" but it does mention blue rewards, which are all smart save things.
I'm interested to see if a woolwich mortgage qualifies or not. but else its a no brainer, £4 up (or however the tax works)0 -
Just opened the standard 'Barclays Bank Account' ready for this.
I am a *new customer, have registered for online banking and now waiting for debit card/pin. Can anyone confirm that like RBS group and Nationwide I should be automatically receiving a card reader through the post in the next few days too? Seems you cannot set up a new payee (To one of my other accounts elsewhere) without this.
(*Well I did have an account with them for 20 yrs from leaving school in 1988 until 2008 when I closed it but on looking at my personal contact details within OB they have automatically added my old long-since-gone landline phone number - so they clearly didnt delete all info about me when I left them 7 yrs ago!)0 -
Upon submission of my application there was a "technical error" which requires me to go to my branch. What a pain. I must have opened 15 accounts over the last few years with zero issues.0

Order if you can a Pinsentry reader, im sure you need this to add a payee.
Yes Barclays will send it all out like RBS.0 -

Thanks thats all what I needed to know really - that I should automatically receive one in the next few days along with my debit card/pin.
I take it I can safely ignore prompts to 'upgrade' to pinsentry if one is already 'on the way' so to speak.:)0 -

If you have one already from Nat West or Nationwide, you can use that one for your Barclays account, if you do not want to wait for the Barclays one.0 -

Or indeed any bank that uses Visa debit cards, AFAIK.
Not sure if Mastercard has a similar system, but my Barclays PINsentry works with any of my Visa debit cards, but not my Mastercard debit card. Although I don't think there are many banks that issue Mastercard debit cards.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
Hi all
Does anyone know if you are required to have your Barclays mortgage DD coming from the Barclays current account to claim the additional reward? Or is it enough to hold the mortgage but have the DD coming from another non barclays account?
I am aware of the DD requirements generally for the account.
I appreciate that the rewards scheme is very new, but any answer (rather than opinion) would be gratefully received.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!0 -

It has nothing to do with card network. It's if the card has an application the chip that supports. The issuer decides
For example a typical UK card has:
Link ATM application (This is generally only on UK cards but all Chip Amex cards worldwide have it)
Card network application (MasterCard Amex visa etc.)
Card reader application (Some UK banks)
Plus or Cirrus ATM network (international use only)
Any network alliances (I.e Amex has an application for limited JCB use in Japan)0
