Can Barclays customers use the same log in details to view both their current account and credit card?

If you have the Barcays mobile app, you can view both the current account and credit card. My credit card wasn't showing but after calling them, they were able to add it.
  • I visited my local branch today to clarify a few things, the staff didn't have a clue. The girl on the cash desk had no idea & said to speak to one of the Personal Advisers... Who in turn said she only had the training on it yesterday, and I ended up telling her more than she knew lol

Came home, applied online for the basic account.

The credit check was in depth, says Equifax shows you opened accounts in November, January & March, wanted to know names of these banks. Still accepted though.

Just have to wait and see next week how this upgrading to Blue process works...

I think that is an identity check rather than a credit check, the idea being that only you should know details of your personal finances. If you get the answers wrong or they can't find any Equifax records for you they will tell you to bring some ID into a local branch instead.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

Makes sense, it did state "answer carefully".

I had exactly the same thing, 3 questions from an Equifax Report with multiple-choice answers for which only I should know the correct answers.

[Interestingly my two attempts yesterday to open a current account whilst logged in (I have a legacy ING Direct Account which is now with Barclays) both ended with a message saying you cannot proceed, please ring us.

Applying today when not logged in involved a totally different system, ending with the Equifax questions and then a new account number.]

If by "basic account", you're talking about their Cash Card account, it isn't eligible for Blue Rewards.

    Notes to editors
    • Available to Barclays current account customers aged 18 or over who hold a suitable account (all adult current accounts are suitable, excluding Cash Card, Young Person’s, BarclaysPlus, Wealth & Foreign Currency and Business Accounts)

Not sure if that is basic as well.

Whilst Cash Card is Barclays no-frills account, and may have restrictions on use, I think it's more likely that what Dizzee Rebel meant by 'basic' in their earlier post was the 'standard' account - which is simply called Barclays Bank Account.
