Barclays Barclays Blue Rewards: how to qualify Barclays
Barclays
It's more rewarding in the blue
Now that you've joined Barclays Blue Rewards, you'll enjoy exclusive benefits as a thank you for being with us – including rewards you can pay into your account and savings on quality brands.
What you need to do
To qualify for Barclays Blue Rewards, all you need to do is:
• pay in at least £800 into your nominated current account every month
• make two Direct Debit payments from your nominated current account every month.
Please make sure that you read the terms and conditions for details on how to qualify.
We'll check you've done this on the 1st of the month for the previous month. We can see that you haven't qualified this month, so we wanted to remind you of the criteria and give you a little time to qualify.
What happens next?
We want you to enjoy the benefits of Barclays Blue Rewards now. So this month, we'll pay your rewards and take your monthly fee.
But if you don't meet the criteria, we'll close your Rewards Wallet – and you'll stop earning rewards. If that happens, we'll transfer any rewards you may have earned into your chosen current account, and stop taking the monthly fee. We'll also credit any pending SmartSpend cashback to your nominated current account at the lower rate.

£800 from Halifax every month
2 regular direct debits both paid in the same month.
The representi r spoke to her manager on the phone and said that a transfer from Halifax didn't qualify and it had to be a wage or benefits exclusively and I would be kicked off the scheme next month (£800 in benefits?!?!)
But I'm in the right...
...maybe I can see why people are flocking away from Barclays.
I will phone back tomorrow with more evidence (from their own t&c's)
I am using the account fairly and I had planned to even use it as one of my day to day spending accounts but this has left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. ( and over 20 minutes on the phone!)
In addition I can confirm that my sister opened a Barclays account last month and added the Blue Rewards to it. She set up two Direct Debits as required but it was too late in May for them to be paid. She has been credited with the £7 Blue Reward. She credited her account with £800 from an account outside of Barclays, but like me she hasn't had her salary credited to it.0 -
They have paid me for two months Steve_xx (I met criteria from day 1)
But on both occasions have informed me that I didn't actually qualify and that I my blue rewards will soon be cancelled.0 -
same as me piratematt I thought the emails were because in month one only 1dd was paid and in month 2 (May) the 2nd dd was paid in June so two months with only 1dd being paid...I still received the £70

Let's see what happens next month!0

My income is from a Halifax account. I had a salary paid into my account, but it was only around £500 this month. They paid me my reward, and I haven't had an email to say I don't qualify.
Like many people I'd imagine, our main salary goes into Halifax to get their £5 reward, then money for the direct debits on the things that give cashback is transferred to Santander123 with the rest going elsewhere. For me it goes into my Barclays account to offset the interest on the mortgage account.0 -
i can't see how they are determining the source of credits, other than manually checking, and they can't do that for everyone:think:0

I only signed up in June. Don't think I've received the email but I only earn £300 a month so the rest of mine is the money transferred between Barclays and tsb. I will keep a look out to see if they plan on kicking me off the sceme.
Also plan on opening the Halifax account, just waiting for them to up the switching fee as I have a dormant second account with barclays.0 -
