i was reading this thread late last night for the first time..
i have a BarclaysPremier account which already has 4 Direct Debits set up, 1 of which is always drawn, and 2 of which are usually drawn..
i have a Woolwich mortgage too, but the property is being sold this month, so suspect i would just get the one payment for that.
i'm not exactly bowled over by the deal: paying a fee to then receive the reward is certainly a faff. but i suppose it's still worth taking advantage.

    Hi,
Has anyone had their £5 Mortgage reward this month?
Mine seems to be missing. I've got the £7 loyalty reward, but not the extra £5 for the mortgage.

    Thanks.

This is my first month of Blue rewards. I got the £7 on Monday and the £5 on Tuesday.

I'm on the phone to Barclays at the moment but has anyone else had this problem?

I do qualify for the reward.
I have two direct debits and £800 paid in - all within the same calendar month - and I have done since I set the account up.

But for the last two months I get the following automated email from Barclays - which indicates I haven't qualified, but they will pay anyway for the time being:
We'll check you've done this on the 1st of the month for the previous month. We can see that you haven't qualified this month, so we wanted to remind you of the criteria and give you a little time to qualify.

    What happens next?

We want you to enjoy the benefits of Barclays Blue Rewards now. So this month, we'll pay your rewards and take your monthly fee.

But if you don't meet the criteria, we'll close your Rewards Wallet – and you'll stop earning rewards. If that happens, we'll transfer any rewards you may have earned into your chosen current account, and stop taking the monthly fee. We'll also credit any pending SmartSpend cashback to your nominated current account at the lower rate.

The staff don't seem to know why I am getting these emails, as they've already verified on the phone that I pass the criteria.

I'll update once I get an answer in case this is affecting anybody else.

OK - so just ended the phone call.

They have said that it ABSOLUTELY needs to be a wage or benfits paid in.

I transfered £800 from my own Halifax account.

I thought it didn't matter about the source...

Thoughts - or I have misunderstood.
I'll check through earlier posts on the thread.

Apologies if this has been answered already, but how do I go about informing HMRC about the £7?

Can't find any mention about Salary.

Indeed the email I got from Barclays says "fund your account with £800"

    Even that doesn't mention wage/benefits

I then checked the advanced t&C's and the restrictions are (as expected) paying from another Barclays account.

I think Barclays are trying to pull a fast one here.

I'll ring them back tomorrow lunch time and read them back the t&c's from my reward account!!

If you submit a SA tax return, include it in that.

If you don't - after the end of the tax year (5 April 2016) write to your tax office and tell them the amount of any untaxed taxable income you have received since 6 April 2015. Keep a copy of the letter ;)

They were quite adamant on the phone and made me feel a bit stupid.

    £800 from Halifax every month
2 regular direct debits both paid in the same month.
Apparently I'm not eligible, and my blue rewards will be cancelled despite the above.

The representive spoke to her manager on the phone and said that a transfer from Halifax didn't qualify and it had to be a wage or benefits exclusively and I would be kicked off the scheme next month.

    But I'm in the right...

...maybe I can see why people are flocking away from Barclays.
I will phone back tomorrow with more evidence (from their own t&c's)

I am using the account fairly and I had planned to even use it as one of my day to day spending accounts but this has left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. ( and over 20 minutes on the phone!)
