More Ryanair Woes..

Do what I do and take one of those pocket scale things with you whenever you use Ryanair - they're worth every penny and prevent just this sort of situation plus there's no embarrasment of having to unload your undies in full view of the other travellers at checkin when you find you are a kilo over the allowance

Anyone so large that cannot fit into one seat has no option - they have to purchase two seats! Again, that applies to all airlines......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I like the idea of the pocket scales.I use Ryanair for lotsof cheap cheap holidays ,i have 5 small suitcases that fit the carry on regs. I have 3 children so my only problem is getting up the steps etc with the cases and not getting trampled on by the folks who think they have to climb over you. If i am going in a cheap place where i need to take bedding I book one case in -I try to pay the least possible , take the least possible thus buying less rubbish and have lots and lots more holidays. ( well lots more since we came on this site and learnt how to do it). I wonder what people have in these massive heavy cases?0

May I suggest people post on the existing threads rather than bump this old unrelated thread again.0 -
We had a similar thing and as we had no hand luggage, i was helping my wife who has a bad back , I stood my ground and insisted they get the cases back. Lots of bad tempered staff but they did get the cases back and I unloaded some stuff which we carried on by hand. Fortunately we had beach bags to put it in, I really do not understand why Ryanair insist on us carrying hand luggage to go over our heads when it could have stayed in the cases in the hold.
Thinking about it the staff aren't Ryanair are they? Just like the BA staff at Nantes are in BA uniform but are nothing to do with BA as I found when I tried to complain.0
