Well I hope you fail. To be honest, the worst thing that happened to many people is being able to "reclaim "their bank charges.
The Banks rtactics are working, vilify the claimers, pretend that you need to slap a charge on all cusomers instead to keep the multi-billion profits growing at 15% pa! Luggage, I travel light and tend to wear any heavy items of clothing, and put bottles etc in hand luggage to avoid the risk of charges.

You aren't allowed bottles above 100 ml in your hand luggage so that isn't possible and hasn't been since 9/11. When did you last fly ?

its perfectly possible to put bottles in your hand luggage, after security you can put what you like in hand luggage, and that avoids charges that could have been possible if you were to load down a case with bottles of whiskey at check in

Excess baggage charges are fair, if they didn't exist people would be checking in everything including the kitchen sink.
But it can feel a bit unfair if the person sitting next to you weighs twice what you do, and you've had to pay excess baggage charge on a couple of kilos.
I think you have just come up with the next idea for the budget airlines - weighing the passenegers and surcharging passengers above a certain weight!

Duchy - I was alluding to the fact that I buy any booze at the airport rather than carrying it in my case - Good point though, my post was appallingly worded!

I think anyone has that option no matter how big they are or what airline they fly with.

Anyone so large that cannot fit into one seat has no option - they have to purchase two seats! Again, that applies to all airlines.
