Thanks Gen. This is what I hear a lot about Dysons. Last year we bought a new Miele to replace our twenty year old Panasonic. Both very good machines, but a nuisance to get out and set up for a minor spill, plus v dangerous doing stairs, hence the Dyson, which is great.

What the Dyson does offer though is convenience on a totally different level. I'm not convinced that I should buy the other given the high costs and the alternatives that I have, both of which are quite new, but I really like what it does.

£200 is not on for something that is only good for occassional use and even then is a problem.

Thanks, we cross posted. I'll stick to my little cheap one for occasional spills and the stairs, and use my Miele rest of time.

There is a film called The Mechanic. Never, ever watch this film. I have seen pornos with more plot. There are not words to describe how bad it is.

You probably mean the recent remake? The original from the 70's with Charles Bronson is okay.
Westie's favourite film is Beverly Hills Chihuahua



He also enjoyed 'Cats vs Dogs' which was on BBC recently.
Another big hit is the Vitality advert that plays before and after Sky Sports News, with the dachshund.

I never knew it was a remake. The original can only have been better. I would have better staring at the wall for 90 minutes.

I'm watching a re-run of Upper Middle Bogan now which is a lot of fun.

Does this have Jason statham in it? Just checked, and yes it does. It's a remake of a 1970s Michael Winner film which starred Bronson. Why do they make remakes which are worse than the original?

Is there a remake which is better than the original? I can't think of one (which isn't to say it doesn't exist of course).

I'm trying to vaguely improve my diet, initially during Lent.

Why is it that raw carrot or an apple, whilst enjoyable, just don't hit the spot in the way that a piece of cake, or a cookie, would. Hmph.
