York is a flat marathon and not until early October, think they started allocating places last week.
Yes, register quickly as places go fast.

I just made a slow cooker rice pudding. Should have fed 4 people ... I haven't eaten ALL of it ...
My slow cooker releases steam a lot; the steam makes the lid bubble up and down quite a bit, and ends up as water on the worksurface and trickling down between the cooking pot and the base surround. I'm sure it's not supposed to do that :eek:0 -

I still think slow cookers are great things.
PN should get one to add to her Nuke capability0 -
I guess with a Nuker and a Slow Cooker she has all the preparation bases covered....
I have just 'packaged' up to NowTV boxes to send west tomorrow. Still waiting to hear from Nikkster and anyone else who wants one - only 7 left now.....I think....0 -

Sunday night blues.
But I now have a bit of a date on Saturday next week! She's English, and blonde, so very much not the usual type. But she's very nice, lives in Herts, very pretty, and is doing a PhD, so she'll do for me“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

That'd leave £200k. If I could get 2% on that, that's £80/week. Plenty to live on, on the basis that the £200k still exists to dip into and I'd still have an option on working a bit. Also, within 5 years or so, hopefully, that 2% would be more like 4%.... it can't really go much lower. Back in 2007 Sainsbury's were paying 7% .... such a shame the world changed.
But £80/week isn't a "lottery winner's lifestyle". The £200/week you mentioned in another post isn't either. What you are suggesting would be a viable option for you, because of your ultra-frugal way of life, but for most people, winning £300k doesn't make giving up work a viable option. Their best option is probably to continue in their job and spend the money on a combination of several of the following:
Clear debt
Pay off mortgage
Move to nicer house and/or house in nicer area
Enjoy small to moderate increase in standard of living
Enjoy small to moderate increase in security for the future (pension, savings etc)
Go part time or reduce working hours if that's available in their job

Or email him. You've got his email address, haven't you? From making arrangements for various NP meets.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Stick catchup TV on and watch Deutchland83.
If you (or any other NPs) like "the Americans" you should enjoy it. :beer:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Yes! I watched the first one, will definitely watch the second. Need to watch War and Peace as well.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0
